| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Pendidikan melalui sekolah diyakini dapat memperbaiki keadaan ekonomi individu sehingga mereka dapat meraih kehidupan yang lebih baik di masa depan. Faktanya, tidak semua individu dapat menempuh pendidikan sesuai dengan keinginan. Hal tersebut terjadi karena adanya perbedaan kepemilikan modal. Modal yang dimiliki setiap siswa berbeda, seperti: modal ekonomi, prestasi, status sosial, dan kemampuan menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi berprestasi siswa SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto dan SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto dan SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. Teknik sampling yang digunakan ialah disproportionate random sampling dengan total sampel sebanyak 110 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berprestasi siswa SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto lebih tinggi daripada siswa SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. Faktor yang melatarbelakangi perbedaan motivasi berprestasi ialah lingkungan sekolah dan modal yang dimiliki siswa. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Education through schools is believed to be able to improve the economic situation of individuals so that they can achieve a better life in the future. In fact, not all individuals can study as desired. This happens because of differences in capital ownership. The assets owned by each student are different, such as: economic capital, achievement, social status, and the ability to adapt to their environment. This study aims to determine the achievement motivation of students SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto and SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. This study used a survey method conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto and SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. The sampling technique used was disproportionate random sampling with a total sample of 110 respondents. The results showed that the achievement motivation of SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto was higher than that of SMA Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto. The factors behind the differences in achievement motivation are the school environment and the capital owned by students. |
