| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Skripsi ini berjudul “Analisis Tematik pada Novel Aroma Karsa Karya Dee Lestari”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan tema-tema yang terkandung dalam novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif, dengan mendeskripsikan fakta-fakta cerita dalam novel kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan strukturalisme yang berfokus pada tema. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di dalam novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari tedapat tema tradisional dan nontradisional, tingkatan tema menurut Shipley berupa tema fisik, organik, sosial, dan egoik, serta tema utama dan tambahan. Tema tradisional berkaitan dengan adanya norma-norma atau pandangan hidup, dan tema nontradisional berkaitan dengan hal yang tidak sesuai dengan harapan pembaca, yang ditunjukkan pada akhir cerita yang tampak menggantung dan tidak adanya kejelasan pada akhir kisah novel tersebut.Tema fisik meliputi kegiatan fisik para tokoh. Tema organik berkaitan dengan hubungan intim atau rutinitas seksual tokoh, seperti yang dilakukan oleh Suma. Tema sosial tergambar dari tokoh Jati dan Suma yang memiliki kehidupan berbeda dalam kaitannya dengan lingkungan sosial, tingkat pendidikan, dan keadaan perekonomian. Tema egoik terlihat pada tokoh Jati dan Raras yang keduanya memiliki sifat keras kepala. Tema utama pada novel tersebut adalah aroma, sesuai dengan judul dan isi novel yang berkaitan erat dengan aroma. Tema tambahan, terdapat tema sejarah yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya kisah Majapahit serta peninggalan-peninggalannya yang diceritakan dalam novel. Kemudian terdapat tema tambahan petualangan, dengan adanya kisah petualangan Jati dan Suma dalam mencari Puspa Karsa. Serta terdapat tema tambahan mitos dan fantasi, karena adanya tokoh Banaspati dalam novel tersebut yang merupakan mitos dalam kehidupan nyata dan adanya fantasi tentang kisah tanaman Puspa Karsa yang dianggap magis dan dapat mempengaruhi kehendak manusia. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This thesis is entitled "Thematic Analysis on Novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari". The purpose of this research is to describe the themes contained in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari. The method is qualitative descriptive, by describing the facts of the story in the novel then followed by analysis. This thesis uses a structuralism approach that focuses on themes. The results of this thesis indicate that in the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari there are traditional and non-traditional themes, the level of the theme according to Shipley is physical, organic, social, and egotistical themes, as well as main and additional themes. Traditional themes are related to the existence of norms or way of life, and non-traditional themes are related to things that are not in accordance with the expectations of the reader, which is shown at the end of the story which seems hanging and there is no clarity at the end of the novel's story. Organic themes related to intimate relationships or sexual routines of characters, as practiced by Suma. Social themes are illustrated by Jati and Suma who have different lives in relation to the social environment, education level, and economic conditions. The egoic theme is seen in the characters of Jati and Raras, both of them have a stubborn nature. The main theme of the novel is aroma, according to the title and contents of the novel which are closely related to aroma. An additional theme, there is a historical theme which is shown by the existence of the Majapahit story and its legacies that are told in the novel. Then there is the additional theme of adventure, with the story of Jati and Suma's adventure in finding Puspa Karsa. And there are additional themes of myths and fantasies, because the character Banaspati in the novel is a myth in real life and there is a fantasy about the Puspa Karsa plant story which is considered magical and can influence human. |
