| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kepulauan Derawan memiliki ekosistem terumbu karang yang merupakan sumber kehidupan beragam biota laut dan memiliki ekosistem terumbu karang yang beragam tergolong dengan kategori buruk hingga sedang. Pada kondisi terumbu karang yang telah terdegradasi sponge akan menjadi kompetitor dalam memperebutkan ruang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan sponge, tutupan karang dan hubungan tutupan sponge terhadap tutupan karang keras. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode UPT serta software CPC’e untuk menganalisis dan menghitung persentase tutupan sponge dan karang. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif, dan untuk mengetahui hubungan kedua variabel dilakukan analisis statistik regresi. Hasil menunjukan hubungan antara persentase tutupan sponge dangan tutupan karang dengan persamaanya = -0.0118x 2 + 0.7563x - 6.0238, (r) 0.67. Kajian ini dapat dijadikan referensi pengolahan ekosistem terumbu karang dan asosiasi sponge serta upaya untuk meminimalisir degradasi secara ekologis. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Derawan Islands has a coral reef ecosystem which source of life for variety of marine life and the results as bad catagory to medium catagory. In conditions of degraded coral reefs sponge will become a competitor. Reaserch purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of sponge, percentage coral and the relationship between sponge and hard coral. Research method used the UPT method and CPC’e software to analyze and calculate the percentage of sponge and coral. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively, and to determine the relationship between two variables statistical analysis. Reaserch results obtained were percentage sponge, percentage coral, and relationship between the percentage of sponge and percentage of coral cover. The results obtained show a relationship between the percentage of sponge cover and coral cover which can be expressed by the equation = -0.0118x 2 + 0.7563x - 6.0238, (r) 0.67. This study can be used as a reference for the processing of coral reef ecosystems and sponge associations as well as efforts to minimize ecological degradation. |
