| Judul Artikel | Density and Distribution of Genera Acrostichum and Derris at the Western Part of Segara Anakan, Cilacap |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Mangrove density is one of an indicator that showed the level of critical mangrove forest. Distribution has a purpose to describe the pattern of vegetation in an ecosystem. Mangrove fern genera Acrostichum is a large terrestrial plant observed in flooded areas during rainy seasons and at high tides as mangrove associates. Meanwhile Derris occurrence at ground level and climbing habit are necessary for covering and stabilizing the banks of creeks of brackish water. The western part of Segara Anakan lagoon showed an increasing damage of environmental conditions. The purpose of this research were 1) to know the quality of mangrove forest based on distribution pattern and density of the genera Acrostichum and Derris, 2) to know the mangrove damage that occurred at the western part of Segara Anakan, 3) to study the relationship between physical and chemical factors that affect the distribution pattern and density of the genera Acrostichum and Derris. The research has been conducted by a survey method with purposive sampling, that represent different salinity of water. Sampling has been done in eleven locations on March – September 2018. Quadratic plots was made with a size 1x1 m to count the number of species, and individual numbers of each species. Repeated 3 times with a distance 50 m between plots. The main parameters were the number of individuals from genera Acrostichum and Derris and physical factor such as Temperature of water and air, also chemical factors such as Water Salinity, pH of Water, Dissolved Oxygen, pH of Soil, Organic Content and Water Content. The dependent variables were the physical and chemical factor in the western part of Segara Anakan, Cilacap. The independent variables were density and distribustion of mangrove from genera Acrostichum and Derris. The result showed that density value for Acrostichum speciosum is 8.000 ind.ha-1, while the density value for Acrostichum aureum is 2.330 ind.ha-1, and the density value for Derris trifoliata is 124.670 ind.ha-1. While for distribution patterns, genera Acrostichum and Derris has aggregate. High-density values for the Acrostichum and Derris genera indicate damage of mangroves forest at the western part of Segara Anakan. Physical and chemical factors observed during the study showed strong correlations, 0.659 for Acrostichum speciosum, 0.669 for Acrostichum aureum and 0.582 for Derris trifoliata. |
