| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Latar Belakang: Ekstraksi gigi merupakan suatu proses pengeluaran gigi dari tulang untuk gigi sudah tidak dapat dipertahankan. Proses penyembuhan luka terdapat beberapa fase yaitu fase inflamasi, proliferasi, remodeling. Pada fase proliferasi sudah terdapat osteoblas hari ke 14. Tujuan: untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian gel ekstrak bawang putih secara topikal terhadap jumlah osteoblas pasca ekstraksi gigi tikus. Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian eksperimental, posttest-only control group design. Tiga puluh ekor tikus Sprague dawley jantan, umur 2-3 bulan, berat 150-250 gram dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Dilakukan pencabutan insisivus kanan mandibula tikus dan diberi gel pada masing-masing kelompok: Kontrol positif (KP) aloclair, kelompok kontrol negatif (KN) gel Na-CMC, kelompok perlakuan (P1, P2, dan P3) ekstrak bawang putih 10%, 20%, dan 40%. Sampel didekapitasi setelah 14 hari diberi perlakuan. Mandibula diambil dan langsung dibuat preparat histologi dengan pewarnaan haemotoksilin eosin (HE). Hasil dan kesimpulan: Rerata jumlah osteoblas dihitung dengan mikroskop Leica pembesaran 400x dan 1000x pada 5 lapang pandang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata jumlah osteoblas pada kelompok perlakuan (P1, P2, dan P3) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol positif dan negatif (KP dan KN). Rerata jumlah osteoblas meningkat seiring bertambahnya dosis ekstrak bawang putih. Uji statistik One-Way Anova menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna pengaruh pemberian perlakuan antar kelompok (p<0,05). Uji Post-Hoc LSD menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna (p<0,05) antara kelompok kontrol dengan seluruh kelompok perlakuan, sedangkan antara kelompok perlakuan gel 20% dan 40% tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian gel ekstrak bawang putih dapat mempengaruhi jumlah osteoblas pada penyembuhan luka pasca ekstraksi gigi. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Background: Dental extraction is a process of removing tooth from bone,for the tooth which cannot be preserved. The wound healing process has several phases, i.e the inflammatory, proliferation, and remodeling phase. At proliferation phase in day 14, osteoblasts are predominantly found. Purpose: This study aimed to know the effect of topical garlic extract gel on the number of osteoblasts after ectraction of rat teeth Methods: The research design was experimental laboratory and posttest-only control group design. Thirty male Sprague dawley rats, age 2-3 month, weight 150-250 gram, were divided into 5 groups. Removal of mandibular right incisor of the rats were done and followed with gel treatment for 14 days: KP (positive control group with Aloclair gel), KN (negative control group with Na-CMC gel), P1, P2, and P3 (treated group with garlic extract gel 10%, 20% and 40% respectively). The mandible samples were taken and prepared histologically with haemotoksilin eosin (HE) coloring. Result and conclusions:The mean number of osteoblasts were observed under Leica microscope 400x and 1000x magnification at 5 different fields of view. The result of study showed that the average number of osteoblasts in the treated groups (P1, P2, and P3) were higher than positive and negative control groups (KP and KN). The number of osteoblasts were higher in conjuction with higher dose of garlic extract. The One-Way Anova statistic analysis showed significant difference between groups (p<0.05). The Post-Hoc LSD anaylisis indicated significant differences (p<0,05) between each control and treated groups whereas there was no significant difference between 20% and 40% garlic extract gel treated groups. The conclusion of study is garlic extract gel can affect the number of osteoblasts in wound healing after tooth extraction. |
