Indonesia) | TRI UTOMO PENGARUH PEMBERIAN OREGANO OIL (Origanum vulgare) TERHADAP JUMLAH NEUTROFIL PADA DORSUM LIDAH TIKUS Sprague dawley MODEL KANDIDIASIS AKUT Kandidiasis oral merupakan penyakit rongga mulut disebabkan pertumbuhan Candida albicans berlebihan dalam mukosa rongga mulut. Infeksi Candida albicans menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah neutrofil sebagai respons inflamasi akut. Nistatin adalah obat untuk terapi kandidiasis oral, namun obat tersebut memiliki efek samping seperti mual dan iritasi pada mukosa oral. Salah satu bahan yang berpotensi memiliki efek antifungi dan antiinflamasi adalah oregano oil. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh oregano oil terhadap jumlah neutrofil pada lidah tikus model kandidiasis akut. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 tikus Sprague dawley jantan yang terbagi ke dalam 6 kelompok sampel, yaitu kelompok P1 (oregano 3 mg/kg BB), P2 (oregano 6 mg/kg BB), P3 (oregano 9 mg/kg BB), K1 (kontrol positif), K2 (kontrol negatif), dan K3 (kontrol normal). Jumlah neutrofil dihitung berdasarkan pemeriksaan mikroskop pada jaringan 1/3 dorsum lidah yang diambil pada hari ke-15 pasca pemberian perlakuan. Jumlah neutrofil dianalisis menggunakan One-Way ANOVA dan Post-Hoc LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah neutrofil terendah pada kelompok P2 yang berbeda signifikan (p<0,05) dengan kelompok perlakuan lainnya dan tidak berbeda bermakna (p<0,05) dengan kelompok kontrol sehat. Inggris) | TRI UTOMO EFFECT OREGANO OIL EFFECT (Origanum vulgare) AGAINST NUMBER OF NEUTROFILS IN TATUS RAT DORSUM Sprague Dawley ACUTE CANDIDIASIS MODEL Oral candidiasis is an oral disease caused by excessive growth of Candida albicans in the oral mucosa. Candida albicans infection causes an increase in the number of neutrophils in an acute inflammatory response. Nystatin is a drug for the treatment of oral candidiasis, but it has side effects such as nausea and irritation of the oral mucosa. One ingredient that has the potential to have antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects is oregano oil. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of oregano oil on neutrophil counts in the rat tongue of acute candidiasis models. This study used 30 male Sprague dawley rats divided into 6 sample groups, namely group P1 (oregano 3 mg / kg BW), P2 (oregano 6 mg / kg BW), P3 (oregano 9 mg / kg BW), K1 ( positive control), K2 (negative control), and K3 (normal control). The neutrophil count was calculated based on microscopic examination of 1/3 dorsum tissue of the tongue taken on the 15th day after administration. The neutrophil count was analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and Post-Hoc LSD. The results showed the lowest neutrophil count in the P2 group was significantly different (p <0.05) with the other treatment groups and not significantly different (p <0.05) with the healthy control group. This study shows that administration of oregano oil can reduce the number of neutrophils in the tongue of an acute Wistar rat model of candidiasis.
