| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang perbandingan kelimpahan ornamental fish
pada terumbu hard dan soft coral di Pulau Menjangan Besar, Taman Nasional
Karimunjawa. Sebagai salah satu potensi sumber daya hayati ornamental fish
selain sebagai komoditas perdagangan bernilai ekonomis cukup tinggi juga
memiliki daya tarik yang tinggi bagi wisatawan. Terumbu hard dan soft coral
merupakan habitat dari ornamental fish. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui
kelimpahan ornamental fish, persentase tutupan hard dan soft coral, serta
mengetahui hubungan dari kedua variabel ukur tersebut. Metode penelitian
penelitian yang digunakan antara lain Line Intercept Transect (LIT) dan Belt
Transect untuk mengukur persentase hard dan soft coral kemudian Underwater
Visual Census (UVC) digunakan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan ornamental fish.
Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif dan statistik Uji-U Mann Whitney dan
analisis korelasi pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 6 famili
ornamental fish dengan jumlah sebanyak 3.139 individu pada hard coral dan 470
individu pada soft coral. Kelimpahan ornamental fish pada terumbu hard coral
3,45 ind/300m² dan 0,52 ind/300m² pada soft coral. Hasil analisis perbedaan
kelimpahan ornamental fish pada terumbu hard dan soft coral menunjukan
perbedaan yang nyata (p<0,05). Hasil analisis korelasi pearson terhadap
kelimpahan ornamental fish dengan persentase tutupan hard coral menunjukan
adanya korelasi sangat kuat (0,926), terhadap soft coral menunjukan adanya
korelasi sedang (0,497). Kelimpahan ornamental fish pada terumbu hard coral
sebesar 3,45 individu/300m2 dan pada terumbu soft coral sebesar 0,52 individu/300m2. Persentase tutupan hard coral termasuk dalam kategori sedang-baik (46,3-61,7%). Persentase tutupan soft coral termasuk dalam kategori buruk (3,8-15,5%). Hasil analisis menunjukan perbedaan yang nyata antara kelimpahan ornamental fish pada hard dan soft coral (P<0,05).

soft coral reefs in Menjangan Besar Island, Karimunjawa National Park. As one of the
potential biological resources ornamental fish in addition to being a trading commodity
is quite high economical value also has a high appeal for tourists. Hard coral and soft
coral is a habitat of ornamental fish. The purpose of this research is to know the
abundance of ornamental fish, hard and soft coral cover percentage, and to know the
relationship of these two measuring variables. Methods of research studies were used
include Line Intercept Transect (LIT) and Belt Transect to measure the percentage of
hard and soft coral and then the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) was used to know
the abundance of ornamental fish. Data analysis used the both descriptive Mann
Whitney test statistical and the Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed that
there were 6 family ornamental fish with a total of 3,139 individuals in hard coral and
470 individuals on soft coral. The abundance of ornamental fish on reef hard coral is
3.45 ind/300m ² and 0.52 ind/300m ² on soft Coral. The result of analysis of the
difference ornamental fish abundance in hard reefs and soft coral shows a noticeable
difference (p < 0.05). The results of Pearson's correlation analysis of ornamental fish
abundance with hard coral cover percentages showed a very strong correlation (0.926),
against soft corals indicating moderate correlation (0.497). The abundance of
ornamental fish on reef hard coral is 3.45 individual/300m2 and on soft coral reefs of
0.52 individual/300m2. The hard coral cover percentage belongs to the medium-fine
category (46,3-61,7%). Soft coral cover percentage belongs to the bad category (3.8-
15.5%). Analysis results show a noticeable difference between the abundance of
ornamental fish on hard and soft coral (p < 0.05).
