Indonesia) | Penelitian yang berjudul “Dampak Kebijakan Proteksionisme Amerika Serikat pada Masa Pemerintahan Donald Trump Terhadap Hubungan Ekonomi Politik Amerika Serikat dengan Uni Eropa” dianalisis menggunakan konsep proteksionisme. Fokus dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dampak kebijakan proteksionisme Amerika Serikat terhadap hubungan ekonomi politik dengan Uni Eropa. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep proteksionisme Frederick List yaitu teori kekuatan produksi dan tahapan-tahapan negara menjadi maju. Hubungan Amerika Serikat dan Uni Eropa sudah terjalin sangat lama, akan tetapi dalam setiap hubungan terdapat beberapa hal yang berpotensi memperburuk hubungan tersebut salah satunya adalah kebijakan proteksionisme. Pada tahun 2018, Amerika Serikat memberlakukan kebijakan tarif terhadap baja dan alumunium yang ditujukan kepada Uni Eropa. Alasan Amerika Serikat membuat kebijakan tersebut untuk melindungi perusahaan nasional dan alat untuk bernegosiasi. Kebijakan tersebut memperburuk hubungan ekonomi politik antara Amerika Serikat dan Uni Eropa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan ketegangan hubungan ekonomi politik kedua pihak, tindakan retaliasi Uni Eropa, serta pelaporan tindakan proteksi Amerika Serikat oleh Uni Eropa kepada World Trade Organization (WTO)

Inggris) | The study entitled “The Impact of United States Protectionism Policy during Donald Trump’s Administration on The Political Economic Relations of The United States with the European Union” was analyzed using the concept of protectionism. The focus in this research is the impact of the United States protectionism policy on political economy relations with the European Union. This study used the concept of Frederick List protectionism, namely the theory of productive power and the stages of the countries becoming developed countries. The relation between the United States and European Union have existed for a very long time. However, in every relationship there are several things that have the potential to worsen the relationship one of which is a protectionism policy. In 2018, the United States adopted a tariff policy on steel and aluminum aimed at the European Union. The reason of the United States made such a policy was to protect national companies and the means to negotiate. The policy worsened the political economy relations between the United States and the European Union. This can be seen from increasing tension in the political economy relations between the two parties, the European Union’s retaliation measures, and the reporting of the United States protection measures by the European Union to World Trade Organization (WTO).
