| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Ekstrak etanol rimpang lempuyang gajah (Zingiber zerumbet) dan jahe putih (Zingiber officinale) terbukti memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik terhadap sel MCF-7. Kombinasi dua atau lebih ekstrak dilaporkan memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik lebih baik daripada ekstrak tunggal. Uji identifikasi terpenoid, flavonoid dan fenol pada esktrak etanol rimpang lempuyang gajah dan jahe putih dilakukan dengan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis. Uji sitotoksik ekstrak etanol rimpang lempuyang gajah, jahe putih dan kombinasi keduanya dilakukan dengan metode MTT assay pada konsentrasi 15,625; 31,25; 62,5; 125; 250; 500 μg/ml dan kontrol positif doksorubisin pada konsentrasi 0,3125; 0,625; 1,25; 2,5; 5; 10 μg/ml. Data absorbansi masing-masing bahan uji dihitung nilai persentase sel hidupnya. Nilai IC50 ekstrak tunggal dan kombinasinya dianalisis menggunakan one way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol rimpang lempuyang gajah dan jahe putih terbukti mengandung terpenoid, flavonoid dan fenol. Nilai IC50 Ekstrak etanol rimpang lempuyang gajah, jahe putih dan kombinasi keduanya berturut-turut adalah 72,44; 75,37 dan 29,17 μg/ml. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Ethanol extracts of lempuyang gajah (Zingiber zerumbet) and white ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale) have cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 cells. The combination of two or more extracts is reported to have better cytotoxic activity than a single extract. Identification of terpenoids, flavonoids and phenols in ethanol extracts of lempuyang gajah and white ginger rhizome was done by Thin Layer Chromatography method. Cytotoxic test of ethanol extracts of lempuyang gajah, white ginger rhizome and the combination of both were examined by MTT assay method at concentration of 15,625; 31.25; 62.5; 125; 250; 500 μg / ml and positive control of doxorubicin at concentrations of 0,3125; 0,625; 1,25; 2,5; 5; 10 μg / ml. The absorbance value of each test material was calculated as the percentage of cell life. The IC50 value of a single extract and their combination were analyzed using one way ANOVA. The result showed that the ethanol extract of white ginger and elephant ginger rhizome was proven to contain terpenoids, flavonoids and phenols. The IC50 value of ethanol extract of lempuyang gajah, white ginger rhizome and the combination of both were 72.44; 75.37 and 29.17 μg / ml. |
