| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini berjudul “Deconstruction of Peter Pan’s Character in Edward Kitsis’ and Adam Horowitz’s Once Upon a Time, Season Three”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dekonstruksi karakter Peter Pan dalam karya Kitsis dan Horowitz seperti yang dijelaskan dalam karya Barrie berjudul Peter Pan. Once Upon a Time, Season Three oleh Kitsis dan Horowitz adalah film pertama yang mendekonstruksi karakter Peter Pan dari cerita berjudul Peter Pan karya Barrie. Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam menganalisis data utama penelitian ini. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, teori dekonstruksi oleh Jacques Derrida dan teori sinematografi oleh Mariano Prunes dan Timothy Heiderich digunakan untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Dekonstruksi berusaha menemukan perbedaan, kontradiksi, paradoks, ambiguitas, dan disintegrasi dalam teks. Karena analisisnya berbicara tentang film, sinematografi diperlukan untuk menunjukkan emosi karakter melalui setiap adegan dalam film. Hasil analisis adalah karakteristik Peter Pan dalam karya Barrie berjudul Peter Pan yang didekonstruksi oleh Edward Kitsis dan Adam Horowitz dalam film Once Upon a Time, Season Three. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada empat karakteristik Peter Pan yang didekonstruksi, yaitu jujur, pemberani, sopan dan peduli. Karakteristik tersebut didekonstruksi menjadi manipulatif, penakut, tidak sopan dan egois. Keempat karakteristik tersebut dapat dilihat dari aksi Peter Pan terhadap tokoh lain atau dari penjelasan karakter lain dalam setiap adegan. Sinematografi yang digunakan dalam film, membantu penelitian untuk memperkuat bukti dalam menemukan jawaban analisis dari dekonstruksi karakter. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research is entitled “Deconstruction of Peter Pan’s Character in Edward Kitsis’ and Adam Horowitz’s Once Upon a Time, Season Three”. The purpose of this research is to analyze the deconstruction of Peter Pan’s character in Kitsis’ and Horowitz’s work as described in Barrie’s Peter Pan. Kitsis’ and Horowitz’s Once Upon a Time, Season Three is the first film that deconstruct the character of Peter Pan from Barrie’s Peter Pan. The qualitative method is used in analyzing the main data of this research. To answer the research question, deconstruction theory by Jacques Derrida and cinematography theory by Mariano Prunes and Timothy Heiderich are used to answer the research question. Deconstruction seeks to find the differences, contradictions, paradoxes, ambiguity, and disintegration in the text. Since the analysis is talking about film, cinematography is needed to show the character’s emotions through every scene in the film. The result of the analysis shows that the characteristic of Peter Pan in Barrie’s Peter Pan is deconstructed in Edward Kitsis’ and Adam Horowitz’s Once Upon a Time, Season Three. The result shows there are four characteristics of Peter Pan that are deconstructed, namely, honest, fearless, polite and caring. Those characteristics are deconstructed into manipulative, fearful, impolite and selfish. The four characteristics can be seen from Peter Pan’s action towards other characters or from other characters’ explanation in every scenes. Cinematography, that is used in the film, helps this research to strengthen the proof in finding the answer of the analysis from the character’s deconstruction. |
