| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kesadaran penipuan sangat dibutuhkan baik oleh bisnis maupun warga negara untuk memahami kondisi ekonomi negara. Penulis memilih untuk mengkorelasikan kasus penipuan Enron, Satyam, dan Toshiba terhadap Teori Crowe’s Pentagon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran penipuan pembaca dan membantu mereka untuk memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang tiga kasus di atas melalui Teori Crowe’s Pentagon. Dalam mengkorelasikan elemen-elemen penipuan berdasarkan Teori Crowe’s Pentagon, penulis menggunakan Metode Ilustratif guna menggambarkan bagaimana dan mengapa penipuan terjadi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alasan dibalik terjadinya tiga kasus di atas umumnya berasal dari Tekanan, Kesempatan, Rasionalisasi, Arogansi, dan Kompetensi, walaupun pada prakteknya, kondisinya berbeda karena negara asal perusahaan yang berbeda. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Fraud awareness is strongly needed both by the businesses and citizens in order to understand the economic condition of the country. The writer chose to correlate Enron, Satyam, and Toshiba fraud cases to Crowe’s Pentagon Theory. This research aims to increase the readers’ fraud awareness and help them to have better understanding about those three fraud cases through Crowe’s Pentagon Theory. In correlating the elements of fraud of Crowe’s Pentagon Theory to the three fraud cases, the author used Illustrative Method to describe how and why the frauds happened. The results of this research showed that the reasons behind the occurrence of three fraud cases mentioned above are generally come from Pressure, Opportunity, Rationalization, Arrogance, and Competence, even though in practical, the conditions are different due to different of company’s country origin. |
