Terdapat tiga perlakuan yaitu P1 (40% rumput gajah + 60% konsentrat + 0% tepung kulit buah naga), P2 (40% rumput gajah + 60% konsentrat + 3% tepung kulit buah naga) dan P3 (40% rumput gajah + 60% konsentrat + 6% tepung kulit buah naga). Setiap perlakuan diulang enam kali sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | An experiment was aimed to examine the effect of adding dragon fruit peels in cattle feed on the concentration of VFA, N-ammonia and microbial protein synthesis. Held from August 5th to September 5th 2019 at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The study used an in vitro experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD). There are three treatments namely P1 (40% Napier grass + 60% concentrate + 0% dragon fruit peel flour), P2 (40% Napier grass + 60% concentrate + 3% dragon fruit peel flour) and P3 (40% Napier grass + 60 % concentrate + 6% dragon fruit peel flour). Each treatment was repeated six times so that there were 18 experimental units. The variables measured were total VFA concentration, N-ammonia and microbial protein synthesis. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with the polynomial orthogonal test. The mean VFA concentrations obtained were P1 = 125.67 ± 3.44; P2 = 122.00 ± 4.73; P3 = 114.00 ± 6.45; the average N-ammonia obtained P1 = 12.83 ± 0.41; P2 = 13.43 ± 0.29; P3 = 13.47 ± 0.24; while the average of microbial protein synthesis was P1 = 240.56 ± 19.74; P2 = 326.11 ± 39.48; P3 = 312.78 ± 28.41. The supplementation of dragon fruit peel decreased the VFA concentration linearly with the equation y = 126, 39 - 1.94x (r2 = 0.51), the concentration of N-ammonia increased linearly with the equation y = 12.93 + 0.11x (r2 = 0.39), the microbial protein synthesis quadraticly by the equation y = 240.56 + 45x -5.49x2 (R2 = 0.65) and peak point P (4.1%; 332.71 mg / 20 ml). It was concluded that addition of dragon fruit peel as an defaunation agent is effective up to 4.1%. |
