Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penambahan pollard dengan level yang berbeda dan level optimal penambahan pollard terhadap serat kasar maupun protein kasar silase rumput gajah mini. Materi yang digunakan adalah silase rumput gajah mini yang diberi molases 1% dengan level penambahan pollard yang berbeda. Penlitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan penambahan pollard masing masing 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan diulang 4 kali. Variabel penelitian yang diukur adalah serat kasar dan protein kasar. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan uji lanjut orthogonal poliomial. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pollard berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap serat kasar dan protein kasar. Hasil analisis regresi pada serat kasar diperoleh persamaan Y = 33,51 - 0,85 X + 0,013 X2 (R2=93,64%). Hasil analisis regresi pada protein kasar diperoleh persamaan Y = 8,42 + 0,36 X - 0,01 X2 (R2=79,82%). Level optimal pada penambahan pollard dalam pembuatan silase rumput gajah mini serat kasar sebesar 31,77% dan protein kasar sebesar 33,46% sehingga mampu mempertahankan maupun meningkatkan serat kasar dan protein kasar.

Inggris)The purpose of this study was to examine the addition of pollard with different level and optimum level of pollard addition on crude fiber and crude protein of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott silage. The materials used were Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott silage added with 1% molases and different pollard level addition. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with treatments of pollard level addition were 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and were replicated 4 times. Variabel that measured were crude fiber and crude protein. Data analyzed with variance analysis and orthogonal polynomial test. The result of variance analysis showed that the addition of pollard had a significant effect (P<0,01) on crude fiber and crude protein. The result of regression analysis on crude fiber showed regression line equation Y = 33,51 - 0,85 X + 0,013 X2 (R2=93,64%). The result of regression analysis on crude protein showed regression line equation Y = 8,42 + 0,36 X - 0,01 X2 (R2=79,82%). Optimum level of pollard addition on the manufactured of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott silage for crude fiber was 31,77% and crude protein 33,46% that can maintained and increased crude fiber and crude protein.
