| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Ikan montok (Pennahia macrocephalus) memiliki nilai ekonomis yang penting dan banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Saat ini permintaan pasar yang tinggi hanya mengandalkan hasil tangkapan nelayan saja tanpa adanya pengelolaan untuk masa mendatang, sehingga dikhawatirkan populasi ikan montok akan menurun. Pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi turunnya populasi ikan montok yaitu dengan cara konservasi. Upaya konservasi memerlukan data-data ilmiah berupa informasi taksonomik yang dapat digunakan sebagai pembeda antara ikan jantan dan betina. Informasi tersebut berupa karakter morfologi yang meliputi truss morphometrics, morfometrik standar dan meristik. Penelitian tentang ikan montok masih jarang dilakukan di Indonesia. Hal ini yang mendasari dilakukannya penelitian ikan montok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendapatkan karakter morfologi, morfometrik standar, truss morphometrics, dan meristik yang dapat digunakan untuk membedakan antara ikan montok jantan dan betina. Metode penelitian menggunakan teknik survey dan pengambilan sampel dengan teknik Purposive Random Sampling. Sampel ikan montok diperoleh dari TPI Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Cilacap (PPSC) sebanyak 60 ekor, dengan dua kali ulangan. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu karakter morfologi, morfometrik standar, meristik, dan truss morphometrics. Parameter yang diukur yaitu perbandingan rasio antara jarak truss dengan panjang standar. Karakter morfologi yang diamati yaitu bentuk tubuh, bentuk dan posisi mulut, bentuk sirip caudal, dan tipe sisik. Karakter morfometrik standar yang diukur Pre Orbital Length, Eye Diameter, Post Orbital Length, Head Length, First Pre-dorsal Length, First Dorsal Fin Base Length, Second Dorsal Fin Base Length, Pre-caudal Peduncle Base Length, Pre-caudal Peduncle Length, Total Length, Mouth Length, Pre-operculum Length, First Pre-pectoral Fin Length, First Pre-pelvic Fin Length, Second Pre-pectoral Fin Length, Second Pre-pelvic Fin Length, First Pre-anal Fin Length, Second Pre-anal Fin Length, Second Pre-dorsal Length, Pectoral Fin Length, Pectoral Fin Base Length, Pelvic Fin Base Length, Anal Fin Base Length, Pelvic Fin Length. Karakter meristik yang dihitung yaitu jumlah sisik garis rusuk, jumlah sisik diatas garis rusuk, jumlah sisik dibawah garis rusuk, jumlah sisik yang mengelilingi batang ekor, jumlah jari-jari sirip pectoral, jumlah jari-jari sirip ventral, jumlah jari-jari keras sirip dorsal, jumlah jari-jari lemah sirip dorsal, jumlah jari-jari sirip anal, jumlah jari-jari sirip ekor. Karakter truss morphometrics yang diukur yaitu jarak truss yang sudah ditentukan sebanyak 14 titik. Data hasil pengamatan karakter morfologi dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan pengukuran karakter morfometrik standar, meristik dan truss morphometrics dilakukan analisis statistik dengan uji t menggunakan SPSS Versi 16.0 antara ikan montok jantan dan betina.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakter truss morphometrics dapat digunakan untuk membedakan antara ikan montok jantan dan ikan montok betina yaitu pada jarak pangkal depan sirip dorsal dengan ujung belakang sirip dorsal, jarak antara jarak ujung belakang sirip dorsal dengan ujung belakang sirip ventral, jarak antara ujung belakang sirip dorsal dengan batas badan dan ekor bagian ventral, jarak antara batas badan dan ekor bagian dorsal dengan batas badan dan ekor bagian ventral dan jarak antara batas badan dan ekor bagian dorsal dengan pelipatan ekor bagian ventral. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Montok fish (Pennahia macrocephalus) has an important economic value and widely consumed by the community. Nowdays, high market demand only relies on fishermen’s catch without any management, so that to be worried the population of montok fish will be descending. The prevention to reduce the descending of the population is a conservation. Conservation requires some scientifics data like taxonomic information that can apply sexual differences. Morphological characters, meristics, standard morphometrics, and truss morphometrics are the information. Researches about montok fish are rarely in Indonesia. This is what underlies the study of montok fish. This study aims to determine and obtain morphological characters, standard morphometrics, truss morphometrics, and meristics that can be used to distinguish between male and female montok fish. The research method uses survey and sampling techniques with purposive random sampling techniques. Montok fish samples were obtained from the TPI of the Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Cilacap (PPSC) of 60 fishes. The variables observed in this study were morphological characters, standard morphometrics, meristics, and truss morphometrics. The measured parameters are the ratio of the distance between the truss distance and the standard length. Morphological characters observed are body shape, mouth shape, caudal fin shape, and type of scales. Standard morphometric characters measured in Pre Orbital Length, Eye Diameter, Post Orbital Length, Head Length, First Pre-dorsal Length, First Dorsal Fin Base Length, Second Dorsal Fin Base Length, Pre-caudal Peduncle Base Length, Pre-caudal Peduncle Length, Total Length, Mouth Length, Pre-operculum Length, First Pre-pectoral Fin Length, First Pre-pelvic Fin Length, Second Pre-pectoral Fin Length, Second Pre-pelvic Fin Length, First Pre-anal Fin Length, Second Pre-anal Fin Length, Second Pre-dorsal Length, Pectoral Fin Length, Pectoral Fin Base Length, Pelvic Fin Base Length, Anal Fin Base Length, Pelvic Fin Length. The calculated meristics characters are the number of ribs scales, the number of scales above the ribs line, the number of scales under the ribs line, the number of scales surrounding the tail shaft, the number of pectoral fin fingers, the number of ventral fin fingers, the number of dorsal fin hard fingers, the number of fingers is weak in the dorsal fin, the number of fingers of the anal fin, the number of fingers of the tail fin. The character of the measured truss morphometrics is the distance of the truss that has been determined as many as 14 points. Data from observations of morphological characters are analyzed descriptively, while measurements of standard morphometric characters, meristics and truss morphometrics are carried out statistical analysis using t test from SPSS Version 16.0 between male and female montok fish. The results showed truss morphometrics character can be used to distinguish between male montok fish and female montok fish which is at the front base of the dorsal fin with the back end of the dorsal fin, the distance between the back end of the dorsal fin and the rear end of the ventral fin, the distance between the back end of the dorsal fin with the ventral body and tail, the distance between the body boundary and the dorsal tail with the ventral body and tail boundary and the distance between the body boundary and the dorsal tail with the ventral tail folding. |
