| Judul Artikel | KOMPOSISI Bacillus spp. PADA SALURAN PENCERNAAN SIDAT (Anguilla bicolor) YANG DIBERIKAN PAKAN DENGAN TAMBAHAN VITAMIN C (COATED) |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Microflora (Anguilla bicolor) can be influenced by the addition of vitamin C to the feed. One of the microflora found in shorfin eels was Bacillus. The goals of this study were to determine the effect of adding vitamin C (coated) to feed on total number of bacteria and percentage of Bacillus spp. in digestive tract of shortfin eel. This study used an experimental design with 2 treatments and 8 replications (individuals). Treatments used were feed without the addition of vitamin C (coated) and feed with the addition of vitamin C (coated) as much as 80 mg/kg of feed. Based on the results of the study after 50 days of maintenance, it was found that the addition of vitamin C (coated) to the feed did not have a significant effect on total number of bacteria (P>0.05). The average total number of bacteria without addition of vitamin C (coated) and addition of vitamin C (coated) 80mg/kg were 0,05-144,16x106 CFU/g and 0,04-36.86x106 CFU/g. Percentage of Bacillus spp. of vitamin C (coated) 80 mg/kg of feed is 19% while of treatment without vitamin C (coated) is 14,5%. Composition of Bacillus spp. consisted of B. subtilis, B. megaterium, B. pumilus and other Gram-positive, the composition was dominated by B. pumilus. Observation of water quality included temperature 22-240C, pH 6-9 and dissolved oxygen 5,12- 6,85 mg/L. Vitamin C (coated) added to feed can increased the proportion of Bacillus spp. in the digestive tract of shortfin eels. |
