| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian yang berjudul “Coraline’s Lucid Dream Depicted in Coraline (2009) Movie Directed by Henry Selick” bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyebab dan penggambaran lucid dream dari Coraline. Dengan menerapkan teori Soeparno dan Sandra terkait pendekatan psikologi, LaBerge terkait lucid dream, dan Brown terkait metode-metode cinematografi, penelitian ini termasuk kedalam jenis penelitian kualitatif. Sementara itu, data yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa adegan dan naskah film Coraline yang diambil dari situs web IMSDb https://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Coraline.html. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mimpi Coraline di sebabkan oleh kondisi psikologis yang meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, keluarga dan budaya. Adapun proses psikologis Coraline, meliputi interaksi sosial, emosi, dan memori. Di samping itu, lucid dream Coraline digambarkan menjadi 2 bagian. Bagian pertama adalah kesadaran yang merujuk pada panca indra, yakni penglihatan, penciuman, pendengaran, peraba, dan perasa. Sedangkan bagian kedua yakni pengendali mimpi, merujuk pada REM (Rapid Eye Movement) yang disimbolkan dengan pintu kecil di dalam film tersebut. Sebagai tambahan, delusi merupakan efek lucid dream yang di temukan dalam film Coraline. |

Inggris) | This research entitled “Coraline’s Lucid Dream Depicted in Coraline (2009) Movie Directed by Henry Selick” aims to analyze the causes and depictions of Coraline’s lucid dream. By applying Soeparno and Sandra’s theory regarding psychological approach, LaBerge’s theory regarding lucid dream, and Brown’s theory regarding the methods of cinematography, this research belongs to qualitative research. Meanwhile, the main data of this research are the scenes and scripts found in the Coraline movie. The transcript is taken from The IMSDb website https://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Coraline.html. The result shows that the causes of Coraline’s lucid dream refer to the psychological condition of Coraline, including age, gender, family and culture. Moreover, the psychological process of Coraline includes social interaction, emotion, and memory. Besides, Coraline’s lucid dream is depicted into two parts. The first part is consciousness that refers to the five senses covering sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Meanwhile, the second part is the controlling dream in which it refers to REM (Rapid Eye Movement) signed with the little door in the movie. In addition, delusion is an effect of a lucid dream found in the Coraline movie. |
