Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Departemen Bahasa Inggris, Program Studi Bahasa Inggris, Purwokerto. Penelitian yang berjudul " The Forms and Impacts of Bullying Depicted in Sara Shepard’s The Perfectionists " ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk penindasan di The Perfectionists karya Sara Shepard, dan (2) mengidentifikasi dampak-dampak penindasan di The Perfectionists karya Sara Shepard. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang penindasan, terutama tentang bentuk dan dampak penindasan dalam aspek psikologis dan meningkatkan kesadaran tentang penindasan dalam kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif karena temuan data yang disajikan dikumpulkan dari novel berjudul The Perfectionists, dan kemudian data dianalisis dalam bentuk deskripsi. Peneliti menggunakan Psikologi dalam Sastra sebagai pendekatan dan identifikasi Anna Costanza Baldry tentang bentuk-bentuk penindasan dan identifikasi Ken Rigby mengenai dampak-dampak penindasan sebagai teori untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel The Perfectionists, ada dua bentuk-bentuk penindasan; penindasan langsung yang memiliki satu korban: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis; dan penindasan tidak langsung yang memiliki lima korban: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis, Mackenzie Wright, Ava Jalali, Parker Duvall, dan Mr. Lucas Granger. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel The Perfectionists, ada tiga dampak-dampak penindasan; kesejahteraan psikologis yang rendah yang memengaruhi tiga korban: Mackenzie Wright, Ava Jalali dan Parker Duvall; adaptasi sosial yang buruk yang memengaruhi dua korban: Ava Jalali dan Parker Duvall; dan tekanan psikologis yang memengaruhi dua korban: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis dan Parker Duvall. Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Jenderal Soedirman University, Faculty of Humanities, English Department, English Study Program, Purwokerto. The research entitled “The Forms and Impacts of Bullying Depicted in Sara Shepard’s The Perfectionists” aims to: (1) identify the forms of bullying in Sara Shepard’s The Perfectionists, and (2) identify the bullying impacts in Sara Shepard’s The Perfectionists. The result of this research is expected to improve the knowledge and understanding about bullying, especially about the forms and the impacts of bullying in psychological aspect and increasing the awareness of bullying in real life. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method since the data findings presented were collected from the novel entitled The Perfectionists, and then the data are analyzed in a form of description. The researcher used Psychology in Literature as the approach and Anna Costanza Baldry’s identification of forms of bullying and Ken Rigby’s identification of impacts of bullying as the theory to answer the research questions. The result of the research shows that in the novel The Perfectionists, there are two forms of bullying; direct bullying that has one victim: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis; and indirect bullying that has five victims: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis, Mackenzie Wright, Ava Jalali, Parker Duvall, and Mr. Lucas Granger. The result of the research also shows that in the novel The Perfectionists, there are three impacts of bullying; low psychological well-being that affects three victims: Mackenzie Wright, Ava Jalali and Parker Duvall; poor social adaptation that affects two victims: Ava Jalali and Parker Duvall; and psychological pressure that affects two victims: Taylor Anthony Martell-Lewis and Parker Duvall.
