| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui vital statistik ukuran tubuh domba Garut, mempelajari pengaruh umur terhadap vital statistik ukuran tubuh domba Garut, dan menentuka grade induk dan pejantan domba Garut berdasarkan umur dan vital statistik ukuran tubuhnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei dengan metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 30% dari total populasi. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu umur dan vital statistik ukuran tubuh yang terdiri dari bobot badan (BB), panjang badan (PB), tinggi badan (TB), dan lingkar dada (LD). Grade domba Garut dibuat menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu grade low, medium, dan high. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa umur berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap BB dan LD pejantan domba Garut. Umur juga berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap TB pejantan domba Garut. Namun, umur tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap PB pejantan domba Garut. Rataan BB, PB, TB, dan LD pejantan domba Garut masing-masing 61,6 + 8,2 kg; 78,0 + 4,6 cm; 77,0 + 5,3 cm; dan 92,4 + 5,9 cm. Umur induk domba Garut pada penelitian ini menunjukkan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap BB, PB, TB, dan LD. Rataan BB, PB, TB, dan LD induk domba Garut secara berturut-turut 34,0 + 2,9 kg; 55,8 + 2,4 cm; 66,9 + 1,8 cm; dan 75,9 + 2,6 cm. Berdasarkan data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa umur dapat mempengaruhi vital statistik domba Garut serta grade sudah sesuai dengan standar. Vital statistik tersebut lebih tinggi dari standar yang ditentukan SNI. |

Inggris) | This research aims to know the body size vital statistics of garut sheep, to study the age effect on garut sheep’s body size , and to determine the grade of Garut ewes and bucks based on their age and body size. The method used in this research was a survey and sampling method used in this research was purposive sampling technique. Variable observed in this research were age and body size that consisted of body weight (BB), body length (PB), body height (TB), and chest size (LD). Grade of Garut sheep was made into three groups, that is grade low, medium, and high. The result from this research showed that the age had a very significant effect (P<0,01) on BB and LD of Garut bucks. The age also had a significant effect (P<0,05) on TB of Garut bucks. But age didn’t have significant effect (P>0,05) on PB of Garut bucks. The average BB, PB, TB, and LD of Garut bucks respectively 61,6 + 8,2 kg; 78,0 + 4,6 cm; 77,0 + 5,3 cm; and 92,4 + 5,9 cm. The age of Garut ewes in this research showed very significant effect (P<0,01) on body size. The average BB, PB, TB, and LD of Garut ewes respectively in a row 34,0 + 2,9 kg; 55,8 + 2,4 cm; 66,9 + 1,8 cm; and 75,9 + 2,6 cm. Based on that data, it was concluded that age can affect the vital statistic of Garut sheep and grade which is accordance with the standard. Vital statistic was higher than the standard which is determined by SNI. |
