Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji tipe pengolahan ares batang pisang dan klobot jagung sebagai bahan pakan ditinjau dari kelarutan dan daya serap air. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu ares batang pisang dan klobot jagung, inokulum Trichoderma viridae, urea, molases, air kelapa, kentang, timbangan analitik, autoclave, nampan, pembakar bunsen, gelas ukur 100 ml, aluminium foil, kapas, erlenmeyer, cawan porselin, plastik ukuran 0,5 kg, beacker glass ukuran 1000 ml, kompor listrik, saringan dan kertas Whatman 41. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan dan empat kali ulangan. Perlakuan yaitu ares batang pisang tanpa pengolahan (P1), ares batang pisang fermentasi (P2), ares batang pisang amoniasi (P3), klobot jagung tanpa pengolahan (P4), klobot jagung fermentasi (P5), klobot jagung amoniasi (P6). Variabel yang diamati adalah kelarutan dan daya serap air. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa tipe pengolahan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kelarutan dan daya serap air ares batang pisang dan klobot jagung. Hasil uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) diperoleh bahwa perlakuan terhadap kelarutan dalam air dari yang terkecil ke terbesar yaitu 10,158 % (P6), 13,698 % (P4), 14,920 % (P1), 20,018 % (P3), 22,070 % (P5) dan 23,470 % (P2), sedangkan terhadap daya serap dalam air dari terkecil ke terbesar yaitu 3,560 % (P3), 3,690 % (P2), 4,255 % (P6), 4,543 % (P5), 46,050 % (P4), dan 54,650 % (P1). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tipe pengolahan ares batang pisang maupun klobot jagung paling baik ditinjau dari kelarutan yaitu fermentasi karena bahan pakan mudah dicerna oleh bakteri di dalam cairan rumen, sedangkan tipe pengolahan paling baik ditinjau dari daya serap air adalah tanpa perlakuan, namun tipe pengolahan dengan amoniasi cenderung meningkatkan kecernaan pakan oleh ternak akibat pecahnya ikatan lignoselulosa serta tersedianya sumber N bagi ternak.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)The purpose of this study was to examine the type of processing on the ares banana stem and corn husk as feed ingredients in terms of solubility and absorption in water. The material used in this study was ares banana stems and corn husks, inoculum Trichoderma viridae, urea, molasses, coconut water, potatoes, analytical scales, autoclaves, trays, bunsen burners, 100 ml measuring cups, aluminum foil, cotton, erlenmeyer, porcelain saucer, 0.5 kg plastic, 1000 ml glass beacker, electric stove, filter, and Whatman paper 41. The research method was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of six treatments and four replications. The treatment of ares banana stem without processing (P1), fermented ares banana stems (P2), ammonia ares banana stems (P3), corn husk without processing (P4), fermented corn husk (P5), ammoniated corn husk (P6). The variables observed were solubility and water absorption. The results of the variance analysis showed that the type of processing had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the solubility and absorption of water from the ares banana stems and corn husks. The results of the Honestly Significant Difference test (HSD) were obtained that the treatment of water solubility from the smallest to the largest was 10,158 % (P6), 13,698 % (P4), 14,920 % (P1), 20,018 % (P3), 22,070 % (P5) and 23,470 % (P2), while the absorption in water from the smallest to the largest was 3,560 % (P3), 3,690 % (P2), 4,255 % (P6), 4,543 % (P5), 46,050 % (P4) and 54,650 % (P1). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the processing types of banana stems and corn clots are best in terms of solubility, namely fermentation because feed ingredients are easily digested by bacteria in the rumen fluid, while the best type of treatment in terms of water absorption is without treatment, but the type of processing with ammonia tends to increase feed digestibility by livestock due to rupture of lignocellulose bonds and the availability of N sources for livestock.
