| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang resepsi khalayak terhadap perspektif gender pada pemberitaan kasus First Travel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan dan penerimaan khalayak terhadap perspektif gender dalam pemberitaan dengan mengeksplorasi Teori Skema Gender, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis resepsi, dimana khalayak diposisikan sebagai pihak yang aktif dan memiliki kekuatan dalam menginterpretasikan makna pesan secara bebas. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan wawancara mendalam. Penentuan informan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria-kriteria tertentu. Dalam hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa informan tidak begitu saja menerima pesan yang ditampilkan oleh pemberitaan media massa. Dengan kata lain, informan dapat memaknai pemberitaan kasus First Travel berdasarkan sudut pandangnya masing-masing sesuai dengan konsep interpretive community. Keseluruhan informan secara kritis menyebut bahwa pemberitaan media masih kurang memperhatikan perspektif gender, media cenderung bias dalam memberitakan antara perempuan dan laki-laki. Ditemukan beberapa faktor signifikan yang mempengaruhi keberagaman pemaknaan dan penerimaan informan, yaitu pola pikir dan pemahaman, keluarga, lingkungan sosial, dan pengalaman informan. Dari hasil analisis spectrum of reading David Morley, terdapat satu informan yang menempati posisi dominant/hegemonic reading, tujuh informan menempati posisi negotiated reading menjadikan posisi ini sebagai posisi yang paling menonjol, dan dua informan menempati posisi oppositional reading. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This study examines the reception of audiences towards the gender perspective in the mass media coverage about First Travel case. This study was conducted to find out the acceptance and the meaning of audience towards the gender perspective in the news by exploring Gender Scheme Theory. This study is a qualitative research with the method of reception analysis, where the audiences is positioned as an actives parties and have a power to interpreting the meaning of the messages freely. Data collection methods are Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and in-depth interview. The informant is determined by purposive sampling technique with certain criteria. In the results of this study found that informants did not just receive messages that displayed by the mass media coverage. In other words, informants can interpret the reporting of First Travel cases based on their respective point of view in accordance with the concept of interpretive community. In general, informant critically stated that media coverage was still not paying attention to the gender perspective, the media tended to be biased in reporting between women and men. A several significant factors were found to influences the informant diversity of meaning and acceptance, which are mindset and understanding, family, social environment, and informant experience. From the results of David Morley's spectrum of reading analysis, there is one informant occupies a dominant/hegemonic reading position, seven informants occupy negotiated reading making this position is the most prominent, and two informants occupy oppositional reading positions. |
