Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai jenis sumber silika terhadap pertumbuhan tomat dan 2) mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai jenis sumber silika terhadap produksi tanaman tomat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam bulan April 2018 sampai dengan Juni 2018 di screen house Fakultas Pertanian, Laboratorium Agronomi dan Hortikultura, dan Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) satu faktor. Faktor yang dicoba terdiri atas media tanam, media tanam yang diberi perlakuan seperti M0 tanpa penambahan sumber silika, M1 penambahan abu sekam padi, M2 penambahan abu jerami, M3 penambahan pasir silika, dan M4 penambahan SiO2. Jumlah ulangan masing perlakuan adalah 8, sehingga total jumlah tanaman adalah 40 tanaman.. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, jumlah daun, luas bukaan stomata, warna daun, bobot kering akar, bobot kering tanaman, volume buah, jumlah buah dan bobot buah. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji F pada taraf kesalahan 5% dan jika terdapat perbedaan (signifikan) dilanjutkan dengan uji beda DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) dengan taraf 5% untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian berbagai macam silika tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh variable pengamatan

Inggris)This research was aimed to: 1) determine the effect of various types of silica sources on tomato growth and 2) to know the effect of various types of silica sources on the production of tomato plants. This research was conducted in April 2018 to June 2018 in the screen house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Agronomy and Horticulture Laboratory, and Plant Protection Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderall Sudirman University. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD) of one factor. The factors tested consisted of planting media, planting media treated like M0 without additional sources of silica, M1 addition of rice husk ash, M2 addition of straw ash, M3 addition of silica sand, and M4 addition of SiO2. The number of replications of each treatment was 8, so the total number of plants was 40 plants. The variables observed in this study were plant height, root length, leaf number, stomatal opening area, leaf color, root dry weight, plant dry weight, fruit volume, number of fruit and fruit weight. The results of the study were analyzed using the F test at an error rate of 5% and if there was a difference (significant) followed by a different DMRT test (Duncan Multiple Range Test) with a level of 5% to determine the effect of good treatment. The results showed that the administration of various types of silica did not have a significant effect on all variables of observation.
