Indonesia) | Film Hidden Figures produksi tahun 2016 merupakan sebuah film yang diadaptasi dari sebuah buku menampilkan cerita historis mengenai perlombaan antariksa antara Amerika dengan Rusia pada masa Perang Dingin tahun 1960. Film ini mengungkapkan sosok tersembunyi di NASA dimana berkat kontribusinya Amerika dapat mewujudkan mimpi hingga mencapai luar angkasa. Sebuah film yang berbicara mengenai tiga tokoh perempuan kulit hitam yang bekerja di NASA tahun 1960-an sebagai seorang ilmuwan. Film Hidden Figures tidak hanya mengenai rasisme semata, akan tetapi lebih menekankan mengenai ketiga tokoh perempuan, yaitu Katherine Goble Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan dan Mary Jackson. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan dibantu dengan teknik analisis wacana van Dijk, yakni teks, kognisi sosial dan konteks untuk menganalisis representasi ketiga tokoh perempuan dalam film serta peran ketiganya selama bekerja di dalam NASA. Hasil temuan penelitian film Hidden Figures menampilkan bentuk representasi ketiga tokoh perempuan diantaranya representasi perempuan yang cerdas, representasi perempuan yang berani memperjuangkan haknya serta representasi sebagai seorang ibu. Temuan lainnya, yakni peran ketiganya dalam pengembangan teknologi dalam film Hidden Figures, yaitu Katherine sebagai penulis laporan serta turut membantu menghitung kalkulasi jalur perlintasan roket ruang angkasa, Dorothy sebagai pengawas, dan Mary sebagai ahli teknik mesin. |

Inggris) | Hidden Figures movie produced in 2016 is a adapted movie from a book featuring historical stories concerning the space race between America and Russia during the Cold War in 1960. The reveals a Hidden Figures movie at NASA where thanks to its contribution America can realize dreams until they reach the outside space. A movie that talks about three figures of black women who worked at NASA in the 1960s as a scientist. The Hidden Figures movie is not just about racism, but rather emphasizes the three female figures, namely Katherine Goble Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson. This study uses qualitative research methods and is assisted by van Dijk's discourse analysis techniques, namely text, social cognition and context to analyze the representation of the three female figures in the film and their three roles while working within NASA. The findings of the Hidden Figures movie research show the representation of the three female figures including the representation of intelligent women, the representation of women who dare to fight for their rights and representations as mothers. Other findings, namely the third role in the development of technology in the Hidden Figures movie, namely Katherine as the author of the report and helped calculate the calculation of space rocket crossing pathways, Dorothy as a supervisor, and Mary as a mechanical engineer. |
