| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Artikel ini bertujuan mengomparasikan karakteristik siswa di SMA pilihan pertama dan pilihan kedua di Banyumas. Penelitian menggunakan survei di SMAN 2 Purwokerto, SMAS Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto, SMAS Veteran Purwokerto, SMAS Yos Sudarso Purwokerto dan SMAS Budi Utomo Purwokerto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latar belakang status sosial ekonomi siswa SMA pilihan pertama sebagian besar merupakan siswa dengan status sosial ekonomi atas dan SMA pilihan kedua sebagian besar merupakan siswa dengan status sosial ekonomi bawah; siswa SMA pilihan pertama sebagian besar mendapatkan input siswanya dengan nilai UN SMP yang baik dan SMA pilihan kedua sebagian besar input siswanya di bawah nilai UN SMP siswa SMA pilihan pertama; asal tempat tinggal siswa SMA pilihan pertama sebagian besar jauh dari sekolah dengan jarak lebih dari 7 km dan SMA pilihan kedua sebagian besar dekat dengan sekolah dengan jarak kurang dari 7 km. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This article aims to compare the characteristics of students in the first and second choice high schools in Banyumas. The study was conducted using a survey at SMAN 2 Purwokerto, SMAS Diponegoro 1 Purwokerto, SMAS Veteran Purwokerto, SMAS Yos Sudarso Purwokerto and SMAS Budi Utomo Purwokerto. The results showed that the background of the first and foremost socioeconomic status of high school students was for students with upper socioeconomic status and high school at that time; high school students choose the first and the largest input with a good junior high school national grade and second choice high school the majority of students input below the junior high school grades first choice high school students; the origin of the first choice high school student residence is far from the school with a distance of more than 7 km and the second choice high school is mostly close to the school with a distance of less than 7 km. |
