Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah NaOH pada sintesis senyawa 3,4,4’-trimetoksikalkon terhadap rendemen hasil sintesis dan penggunaan jumlah NaOH optimum. Sintesis 3,4,4’-trimetoksikalkon dilakukan dengan mereaksikan 4'-metoksiasetofenon dan 3,4-dimetoksibenzaldehid dengan katalis NaOH. Variasi jumlah NaOH yang digunakan adalah 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, dan 20 mmol. Hasil identifikasi spektra UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, dan 13C-NMR menunjukkan bahwa senyawa hasil sintesis merupakan senyawa 3,4,4’-trimetoksikalkon. Peningkatan penggunaan NaOH kurang dari jumlah pereaksi pada sintesis 3,4,4'-trimetoksikalkon meningkatkan rendemen hasil sintesis namun tidak bermakna secara statistik (r = 0,976). Penggunaan NaOH pada sintesis 3,4,4-trimetoksikalkon yang menghasilkan rendemen terbesar adalah sebesar 8 mmol dengan rendemen 80,19%. |

Inggris) | The aim of this research are to see the effect of NaOH concentration to 3,4,4’-trimethoxychalcone’s yield and to determine the optimum concentration of NaOH on 3,4,4’-trimethoxychalcone synthesis. The 3,4,4’-trimethoxychalcone was synthesized from 10 mmol 4’-methoxyacetophenone and 10 mmol 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehide using NaOH as catalyst. The concentration of NaOH was varied for 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 mmol. Based on UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectra, the synthesized compound was 3,4,4'-trimethoxychalcone. The increase in NaOH less than the amount of reagents in 3,4,4'-trimethoxycalcone synthesis increased its yield but not statistically significant (r = 0.976). The use of NaOH in the synthesis of 3,4,4-trimethoxychalcone produced the highest yield was 8 mmol with 80.19% yield. |
