Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Tanaman nyamplung memiliki banyak manfaat, salah satunya adalah biji nyamplung yang kandungan minyaknya sebesar 50-70%. Minyak nyamplung dapat digunakan sebagai bahan bakar minyak dan juga bahan dasar pembuatan sabun Penelitian sabun antibakteri berbahan dasar minyak biji nyamplung telah dilakukan dan karakteristiknya sudah sesuai SNI. Produk sabun tersebut belum diketahui umur simpannya sehingga belum dapat dipasarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui umur simpan produk dan pengaruh waktu simpan terhadap karakteristik sabun. Setelah itu dicari juga aktivitas antibakteri sabun dan tingkat kesukaan panelis terhadap sabun sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyimpanan. Penelitian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu mengisolasi minyak nyamplung, pembuatan sabun cair antibakteri, penentuan umur simpan produk dengan cara mencari data karakterisasi sabun setelah dilakukan variasi waktu simpan kemudian mengekstrapolasi data tersebut serta uji aktivitas antibakteri dan uji hedonik sabun sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu sabun memiliki umur simpan 70 minggu sehingga dapat dipasarkan sampai batas waktu tersebut. Waktu simpan memiliki pengaruh atau berkorelasi terhadap karakteristik asam lemak bebas, pH dan lemak netral. Aktivitas antibakteri sabun sebelum dilakukan penyimpanan sebesar 15,68 mm dan setelah dilakukan penyimpanan sebesar 14,81 mm. Tingkat kesukaan konsumen terhadap sabun sebelum disimpan dan setelah di simpan yaitu 63,25% dan 65,25%, yang berarti masuk dalam kategori disukai oleh konsumen.

Nyamplung seed oil can be used as fuel oil and for basic ingredients for making soap. The research of nyamplung seed oil to made antibacterial soap has been done and the characteristics was accordance with SNI. The shelf life of the soap product is not known so that it cannot be marketed. This study aims to determine the shelf life of the product and also determine the effect of storing time on the characteristics of soap. After that, we also looked for antibacterial activity of soap and the level of preference of the panelists to soap before and after storage. This research was conducted through several stages, isolating nyamplung oil, making antibacterial liquid soap, determining the shelf life of the product by looking for soap characteristics after a variation of storage time and then extrapolating the data and antibacterial activity test and hedonic test of soap before and after storage. The results showed that the soap has a shelf life of the product within 70 weeks so that it can be marketed to this time limit. The storing time has an influence or correlation to the characteristics free fatty acid, pH and neutral fat. Antibacterial activity of soap before storage was 15.64 mm and after storage was 14.81 mm. The level of preference for soap before and after storage was 63.25% and 65.25%, which means that it is included in the favored category by consumers.
