| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | ABSTRAK Skripsi ini membahas mengenai tingkat literasi media tentang informasi hoaks di Line. Beredarnya informasi hoaks di media sosial memunculkan kekhawatiran bagi masyarakat sebagai pengguna media, hal ini dikarenakan informasi hoaks memiliki dampak yang sangat besar terhadap masyarakat. Generasi yang hidup diera sesak media mengakibatkan pergeseran fungsi dan peran, sehingga pengguna media sekarang harus aktif dan kritis dalam meningkatkan literasi media terhadap berbagai konten dimedia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur tingkat literasi media yang dimiliki mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Unsoed ketika berhadapan dengan konten media yang mengandung unsur hoaks di Line. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Individual Competence Framework. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif untuk menganalisis data penelitian. Populasi yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Unsoed, dengan jumlah total 356 mahasiswa. Sampel diperoleh sebanyak 80 responden, berdasarkan teknik probability sampling dengan simple random sampling. Pengambilan data diperoleh melalui survey dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner kepada responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat literasi media mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Unsoed tentang informasi hoaks di Line berada pada level sedang atau medium, dengan nilai 166-186, dari 56% responden atau sebanyak 45 dari total 80 responden. Perolehan nilai pada masing-masing indikator berada pada level sedang atau medium, mulai dari indikator Technical Skills perolehan nilai rata-rata 70,95 sebesar 35%, indikator Critical Understanding perolehan nilai rata-rata 67,89 sebesar 44%, dan indikator Communicative Abilities dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata 34,48 sebesar 47%. Sedangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat literasi media pada mahasiswa komunikasi tidak berada pada level advace atau tinggi disebabkan dari beberapa kemampuan teknis dan kognitif dalam menggunakan media. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | ABSTRACT This thesis discusses the media literacy levels towards hoaxes in Line. The spreading of hoaxes or fake news in social media sets off a firestorm of concern for people as social media users, since hoaxes givea huge impact towards people. Generation who lives in this era of massive media results in shifting of functions and roles, therefore users of social media must be active and critical in increasing media literacy towards various media contents. The aim of this research is to measure the media literacy scale of Unsoed's communication science students when encountering media content containing elements of hoax in Line. This research uses Individual Competence Framework model. The approach of this research that is used is descriptive quantitative, using descriptive statistic analysis technique in analyzing the data. Population of this research is Unsoed's communication science students use LINE, with 356 students in total. Sample is taken from 80 respondents, by using probability sampling technique with simple random sampling. Data are obtained through survey by giving questionnaire to the respondents. The result of this research shows that media literacy scale of Unsoed's communication science student are in the medium level, with score 166-186, from 56% respondents or 45 out of 80 total respondents. The acquired score for each indicator are in medium level, as in Technical Skills indicator with average score 70,95 or 35%, Critical Understanding indicator with average score 67,89 or 44%, and Communicative Abilities indicator with average score 34,48 or 47%. Meanwhile, factors which affect media literacy scale of communication students not in advance level are due to some technical and cognitive abilities in using media.
