| Judul Artikel | EFEK SUPLEMENTASI TEPUNG RUMPUT LAUT (Gracilaria sp.) TERHADAP JUMLAH METANOGEN DAN PROTOZOA RUMEN DOMBA SECARA IN VITRO |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji level optimal penambahan tepung rumput laut Gracilaria sp. pada pakan domba terhadap populasi metanogen dan protozoa. Materi penelitian yang digunakan yaitu cairan rumen berasal dari 3 ekor domba. Perlakuan yang diuji yaitu penambahan tepung rumput laut Gracilaria sp. dengan taraf 0% (P0), 2% (P1), 4% (P2), 6% (P3) dan 8% (P4) berdasarkan pada BK pakan yang tersusun dari hijauan Cynodon dactylon (60%) dan konsentrat (40%). Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali, sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan. Peubah yang diukur adalah populasi metanogen dan protozoa. Hasil pengukuran populasi metanogen yaitu 43.750 ± 6.849 CFU/ml (P0), 13.500 ± 4.725,82 CFU/ml (P1), 7.000 ± 2.581,99 CFU/ml (P2), 31.500 ± 9.574,27 CFU/ml (P3) dan 18.500 ± 12.369,32 CFU/ml (P4). Hasil pengukuran populasi protozoa yaitu 15.450 ± 2.289,83 sel/ml (P0), 9.700 ± 1.336,66 sel/ml (P1), 7.265,5 ± 1.157,85 sel/ml (P2), 11.525 ± 2.617,09 sel/ml (P3) dan 7.656,25 ± 1.457,51 sel/ml (P4). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan perlakuan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap populasi metanogen dan protozoa. Hasil uji orthogonal polynomial menunjukkan penurunan metanogen terbaik berada pada level 3,3% dan protozoa 3,6%. Kesimpulan, level optimal dalam menurunkan populasi metanogen dan protozoa yaitu 3,6%. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The research aimed to examine optimal level of seaweed seed (Gracilaria sp.) supplementation for digestible, methanogen and protozoa population in sheep’s rumen fluid. The research material used are rumen fluid derived from 3 sheep from Green House Fapet Unsoed. The treatments were the addition of seaweed seed (Gracilaria sp.) with 0% (P0), 2% (P1), 4% (P2), 6% (P3) and 8% (P4) levels based on DM of feed composed of forage of Cynodon dactylon (60%) and concentrate (40%). The experimental methods used in vitro, with the study design using a completely randomized design. Each treatment was repeated four times, so there were 20 experimental units. The parameters measured were methanogen and protozoa population. The result of methanogen population is 43750 ± 6849 CFU/ml (P0), 13500 ± 4725.82 CFU/ml (P1), 7000 ± 2581.99 CFU/ml (P2), 31500 ± 9574.27 CFU/ml (P3) dan 18500 ± 12369.32 CFU/ml (P4). The result of protozoa population is 15450 ± 2289.83 sel/ml (P0), 9700 ± 1336.66 sel/ml (P1), 7265.5 ± 1157.85 sel/ml (P2), 11525 ± 2617.09 sel/ml (P3) dan 7656.25 ± 1457.51 sel/ml (P4). The result of statistical test gives significant effect (P <0.01) to methanogen and protozoa population. Orthogonal polynomial test showed that level optimal for methanogen population is 3.3% and 3.6% for protozoa population. Conclusion, optimal level to decreasing the population of methanogen and protozoa was 3.6%. |
