Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penyelimutan benih cabai dengan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum T-213 terhadap penyakit disebabkan virus, dan pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman cabai di lapangan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman, dan lahan perobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Desember 2017 sampai April 2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non-faktorial dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas kontrol, penyelimutan dalam metabolit sekunder T. harzianum T-213 selama 15, 30, dan 60 menit. Variabel yang diamati meliputi masa inkubasi, intensitas penyakit, area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), laju infeksi, daya kecambah, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot segar akar, bobot segar tanaman, dan analisis kandungan senyawa fenol tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyelimutan benih dengan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum T-213 selama 30 menit dan 60 menit mampu menekan intensitas penyakit karena virus masing-masing sebesar 21,22 dan 20.87%. Penyelimutan benih cabai dengan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum T-213 selama 30 menit mampu meningkatkan daya kecambah, tinggi tanaman, dan bobot segar akar masing-masing sebesar 12.67, 20.78, dan 21.23%. Aplikasi penyelimutan benih cabai menggunakan metabolit sekunder T. harzianum T-213 juga mampu meningkatkan kandungan senyawa fenol (tanin dan saponin) di dalam jaringan tanaman.

Inggris)This research was aimed to study the effect of chili seeds coating using the secondary metabolites of T. harzianum T-213 toward the virus diseases, and its effect on chili growth in the field. The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Protection, and in experimental field, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto from December 2017 to April 2018. Randomized Block Design arranged by non factorial was used with 4 treatments and 6 replicates. The treatments consisted of control, and seed coating with the secondary metabolites of T. harzianum T-213 for 15, 30, and 60 minutes. Variables observed were incubation period, disease intensity, area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), infection rate, germination rate, crop height, number of leaves, root fresh weight, crop fresh weight, and phenolic compounds analysis. Result of the research showed seed coating with the secondary metabolites of T. harzianum T-213 could not postponed the incubation period. However, the seed coating treatment for 30 minutes and 60 minutes could suppress the virus disease intensity as 21.22 and 20.87% respectively, compared to control. Seed coating for 30 minutes could increase germination rate, crop height, and root fresh weight as 12.67, 20.78, and 21.23% respectively, compared to control. Seed coating using the secondary metabolites of T. harzianum T-213 could also increase the phenolic (tannin and saponins) compounds contents in the chili tissues.
