| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Saat ini, representasi kelompok LGBT dalam media arus utama masih cenderung negatif karena masih dipengaruhi oleh khotbah keagamaan yang intoleran dan juga heteronormativitas. Walaupun begitu, ternyata masih ada media yang menawarkan representasi alternatif mengenai kelompok LGBT. Salah satu contohnya ialah Magdalene. Melalui publikais daringnya, Magdalene berusaha untuk melawan representasi umum mengenai kelompok LGBT yang menentang media arus utama. Fakta tersebut sangat menarik mengingat Magdalene pada dasarnya dibuat sebagai publikasi feminis, bukan secara khusus diperuntukkan untuk kelompok LGBT. Penelitian ini hendak melihat representasi kelompok LGBT dalam publikasi daring Magdalene. Dalam melakukan analisis, peneliti menggunakan metode analisis teks yang dikembangkan dalam Analisis Wacana Kritis oleh Norman Fairclough. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Magdalene merepresentasikan kelompok LGBT sebagai kelompok yang rentan di Indonesia yang sering menjadi korban marginalisasi oleh media arus utama, dan sebaliknya kelompok LGBT juga direpresentasikan sebagai kelompok yang telah eksis dalam Islam dan budaya lokal. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Nowadays, the representation of LGBT people in Indonesia’s mainstream media is still negative as it is influenced with intolerance religious preaching and heteronormativity. In spite of that, there is still a media that offers an alternative representation of LGBT people. Magdalene is the example of one of them. Through their online publication, Magdalene tries to challenge the prominent representation of LGBT people which opposites the mainstream media. The fact is interesting as Magdalene actually is created as feminist publication, not particularly LGBT publication. This study aims to find out the representation of LGBT people in Magdalene’s online publication. In conducting the analysis, researcher uses the Textual Analysis based on Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis. In the end, the result shows that Magdalene represents LGBT people as vulnerable group in Indonesia which often marginalized by the mainstream media, and on the other hand LGBT people are also represented as group of people who have existed in Islam and local cultures. |
