| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Gigi tiruan lengkap merupakan protesa lepasan yang menggantikan seluruh gigi geligi dan struktur jaringan pada rahang atas dan rahang bawah. Pada konstruksi gigi tiruan lengkap perlu memperhatikan dimensi vertikal yang dibagi menjadi Dimensi Vertikal Oklusal (DVO) dan Dimensi Vertikal Fisiologis (DVF). Pada penentuan DVO perlu menggunakan suatu metode. Metode yang dianggap relevan untuk masyarakat Indonesia yaitu metode Niswonger dan radiografi sefalometri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan DVO sebelum dan setelah insersi gigi tiruan lengkap dengan pendekatan metode Niswonger dan radiografi sefalometri pada pasien di Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode observasional analitik dan rancangan penelitian cross sectional study. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 10 subjek dan dipilih dengan metode purposive total sampling sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Seluruh subjek penelitian dilakukan pengukuran DVO sebelum insersi gigi tiruan lengkap menggunakan metode Niswonger dan radiografi sefalometri. Setelah tahapan prosedur pembuatan gigi tiruan lengkap selesai dan dilakukan insersi maka dihitung kembali DVO pascainsersi menggunakan metode yang sama. Hasil pengukuran DVO sebelum dan setelah insersi gigi tiruan lengkap dibandingkan dan dianalisis. Hasil uji dependent t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara DVO sebelum dan setelah insersi gigi tiruan lengkap pada pendekatan metode Niswonger dan radiografi sefalometri (p<0,05). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat perubahan dalam bentuk penurunan dimensi vertikal oklusal sebelum dan setelah insersi gigi tiruan lengkap dengan pendekatan metode Niswonger dan radiografi sefalometri pada pasien di Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Complete denture is a removable prosthesis that replaces all teeth and tissue structures of the maxilla and mandible. Complete denture construction needs to restore vertical dimensions that are divided into Occlusal Vertical Dimension (DVO) and Physiological Vertical Dimensions (DVF). Determination of DVO can use several methods. Methods which are considered relevant to Indonesian people are Niswonger and cephalometric radiography methods. The purpose of this study was to compare DVO before and after complete denture insertion using Niswonger and cephalometric radiography methods on patients at Dental Hospital of Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto. The type of this research was quantitative research with the analytical observational method and cross sectional study design. The samples were 10 subjects and selected by purposive total sampling method according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. DVO before complete denture insertion of all subjects were measured using Niswonger and cephalometric radiography methods. After complete denture-making procedure was completed and the denture was inserted, DVO post insertion was recalculated using the same methods. Results of DVO measurement before and after complete denture insertion were compared and analyzed. The dependent t-test results showed significant differences between DVO before and after complete denture insertion using Niswonger and cephalometric radiography methods (p <0,05). The conclusion of this research was there is a decrease of occlusal vertical dimension after complete denture insertion measured by Niswonger and cephalometric radiography methods on patients at Dental Hospital of Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto. |
