Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Minyak serai wangi mengandung citronella yang memiliki aktivitas antifungi
terhadap C. albicans, sehingga dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan sabun gel
kewanitaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh HPMC
terhadap sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan sabun gel, mendapatkan formula
terpilih dan mengetahui aktivitas sabun gel minyak serai wangi terhadap C.
albicans. Sabun gel minyak serai wangi dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi
HPMC 1,5%; 1,75%; 2%; dan 2,25%. Hasil uji sifat fisik berupa organoleptis,
homogenitas dan uji stabilitas fisik dianalasis secara dekskriptif, sedangkan
pH, kemampuan dan stabilitas busa, viskositas, dan persentase zat padat
dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah. Formula terpilih di uji aktivitas
antifungi menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa peningkatan variasi konsentrasi HPMC dapat meningkatkan viskositas
sabun gel secara signifikan (p value=0,000). Formula terpilih adalah FI dengan
konsentrasi HPMC 1,5%. Formula terpilih memiliki sifat fisik pH 4,6±0,05;
viskositas 4137±305 cps; kemampuan dan stabilitas busa 30±3 mL; dan
persentase zat padat 5,2±0,2 %. Diameter zona hambat formula terpilih FI
terhadap C. albicans adalah 21,67 mm.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Citronella essential oil contains citronella which has antifungal activity that
can be formulated into gel soap againts C. albicans. The purpose of this study
was to determine the effect of HPMC on the physical properties and stability
of gel soap, to obtain the selected formula, and to determine the activity of
citronella oil gel soap on C. albicans. The citronella oil gel soap was made
with variations of HPMC concentrations of 1,5%; 1,75%; 2%; and 2,25%. The
physical properties include organoleptic, homogenity and physic stability test
were analyzed descriptively, while pH, foam ability and stability, viscosity,
dan percentage of solids were analyzed using oneway ANOVA. Selected
formula was tested for antifungal activity againts Candida albicans used well
diffusion method. The research result showed that variation increase of HPMC
concentration significantly increased the viscosity of gel soap (p value =
0,000). The selected formula is FI with 1,5% HPMC concentration. Selected
formula had physical properties of pH 4,6±0,05; viscosity 4137±305 cps;
foam ability and stability 30±3 mL; and percentage of solid 5,2±0,2 %. The
diameter inhibitiory zone of the selected formula FI to C. albicans was 21,67
mm.
