| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui jenis stek batang terbaik bagi pertumbuhan stek tanaman sig sag, (2) mengetahui komposisi media tanam terbaik bagi pertumbuhan stek tanaman sig sag, dan (3) mengetahui kombinasi terbaik bagi pertumbuhan stek tanaman sig sag. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 4 Oktober 2017 sampai 8 Januari 2018 di Kelurahan Purwokerto Wetan, Kecamatan Purwokerto Timur, Kabupaten Banyumas. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah jenis batang, yaitu batang bagian pucuk (B1), tengah (B2), dan pangkal (B3). Faktor kedua adalah komposisi media tanam, yaitu tanah + pupuk kandang (M1), pasir + pupuk kandang (M2), tanah + pupuk kandang + arang sekam (M3), dan pasir + pupuk kandang + arang sekam (M4). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji F, apabila berbeda nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa batang bagian pangkal mampu mempercepat pertumbuhan tunas, sedangkan batang bagian tengah mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan jumlah akar dan bobot akar segar, penambahan pasir dan arang sekam pada media tanam mampu meningkatkan persentase stek hidup, kombinasi antara batang bagian tengah dan komposisi media tanam pasir + pupuk kandang + arang sekam (B2M4) mampu meningkatkan jumlah tunas. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research aimed to (1) find out the best types of cuttings stem for the growth of sig sag plant cuttings, (2) find out the best composition of planting media for the growth of sig sag plant cuttings, and (3) find out the best combination for the growth of sig sag plant cuttings. The research was conducted from 4 October 2017 to 8 January 2018 in Purwokerto Wetan Village, East Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. The research design was using a Randomized Group Design (RGD) with 3 replications. The first factor was the type of cuttings stem, that was the top, the middle and the base of the stem. The second factor was composition of planting media, soil + manure (M1), sands + manure (M2), soil + manure + husk charcoal (M3), sands + manure + husk charcoal (M4). Data were analyzed by F test, tested further by DMRT 5% if significantly different. The result showed that (1) the base of stem was able to accelerate the growth of shoots, while the middle of stem was able to increase the growth of root number and fresh root weight, (2) addition of sand and husk charcoal on planting medium was able to increase the percentage of growing cuttings, (3) combination of the middle of stem and compotition of sands + manure + husk charcoal (B2M4) was able to increase the growth of shoots number. |
