| Judul Artikel | Efek Penambahan Tepung Rumput Laut Cokelat Sargassum sp. Dalam Pakan Domba Terhadap Jumlah Protozoa dan Metanogen Secara In Vitro |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efek penambahan tepung rumput laut cokelat Sargassum sp. terhadap jumlah protozoa dan metanogen cairan rumen domba. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu cairan rumen domba (sudah diadaptasi dengan Sargassum sp. selama 1,5 bulan). Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali. Perlakuan yang diujikan yaitu P0 = pakan basal; P1 = P0 + monensin 0,03%; P2 = P0 + Sargassum sp. 1%; P3 = P0 + Sargassum sp. 2%; P4 = P0 + Sargassum sp. 3%; P5 = P0 + Sargassum sp. 4%. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Sargassum sp. berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap jumlah protozoa dan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap jumlah metanogen cairan rumen domba. Uji lanjut Jarak Berganda Duncan (DMRT) menunjukkan bahwa P0 berbeda nyata dengan P1, P2, P3, P4 tetapi berbeda tidak nyata dengan P5. Hasil uji lanjut juga menunjukkan bahwa P1 berbeda tidak nyata dengan P2. Kesimpulan dari hasil tersebut yaitu penambahan Sargassum sp. sampai level 4% menghasilkan rataan jumlah protozoa yang relatif sama, sedangkan penambahan Sargassum sp. dengan level 2% menurunkan jumlah metanogen sebesar 75,17%, serta penambahan monensin 0,03% menurunkan jumlah metanogen sebesar 20,68%. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Sargassum sp. addition on total protozoa and methanogen in sheep’s rumen fluid.The material used in this study was sheep’s rumen fluid that had been adapted with Sargassum sp. for 1.5 months. The method of this research was experimental using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) that consisted of 6 treatments, each was repeated four times. The applied treatments were P0 = basal feed, P1 = P0 + 0.03% monnensin; P2 = P0 + 1% Sargassum sp.; P3 = P0 + 2% Sargassum sp.; P4 = P0 + 3% Sargassum sp.; and P5 = P0 + 4% Sargassum sp. Result of analysis of variance showed that the addition of Sargassum sp. did not significantly affect (P>0.05) total protozoa and significantly affect (P<0.05) total methanogen of sheep rumen fluid. Further test, Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), showed that P0 was significantly different from P1, P2, P3, and P4 but not significantly different from P5. In addition, the result showed that P1 was not significantly different from P2. It can be concluded that the addition Sargassum sp. up to 4% in vitro produced a relatively similiar results on total protozoa, while 2% Sargassum sp. decreased total methanogen by 75,17%, and addition of monnensin 0.03% decreased total methanogen by 20,68%. |
