Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Latar Belakang: Seledri (Apium graveolens L.) mempunyai efek farmakologis antioksidan karena mengandung senyawa aktif seperti flavonoid, glikosida iridoid, dan saponin. Aktivitas antioksidan seledri dapat mencegah kerusakan seluler yang ditandai dengan terjadinya stres oksidatif dan penurunan kadar superoxide dismutase (SOD) pada acute kidney injury (AKI). Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian seledri (Apium graveolens L.) dalam mencegah penurunan kadar SOD tikus putih (Sprague dawley) model AKI. Desain Penelitian: Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental dengan post test only with control group design. Dua puluh lima ekor tikus putih dibagi dalam 5 kelompok. Kelompok A sebagai kontrol sehat, kelompok B sebagai kontrol sakit, kelompok C (250 mg/kgBB), kelompok D (500 mg/kgBB), dan kelompok E (1000 mg/kgBB). Pada hari ke 15 setelah pemberian ekstrak, kelompok B, C, D, E dibedah dan dibuat model AKI. Pemberian ekstrak dilanjutkan sampai hari ke 17. Kadar SOD diperiksa dengan metode Spektrofotometri Ransod. Hasil: Rerata kadar SOD pada kelompok A 74,27±7,27 U/ml, kelompok B 47,44±5,18 U/ml, kelompok C 66,71±3,73 U/ml, kelompok D 73,79±2,86 U/ml, kelompok E 81,97±2,79 U/ml. Uji One Way ANOVA menunjukkan nilai p=0,000 (p<0,05). Uji post hoc LSD menunjukkan hasil perbedaan rerata yang signifikan antara kelompok A dengan B, C dan E, dan antara kelompok B dengan semua kelompok data (p<0,05). Kesimpulan: Pemberian ekstrak etanol seledri (Apium graveolens L.) dapat mencegah penurunan kadar SOD tikus model AKI.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Background: Celery (Apium graveolens L.) has antioxidant pharmacological effect because it contains active compounds such as flavonoids, iridoid glycosides, and saponins. Antioxidant activity of celery is known to prevent cellular damage characterized by oxidative stress and decreased levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in acute kidney injury (AKI). Objective: The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of celery (Apium graveolens L.) in preventing the decrease of SOD levels in AKI rats models (Sprague dawley). Design: The method was an experimental study with post test only with control group design. Twenty five males of white rats were randomly assigned to 5 groups. Group A as healthy control group, group B as AKI group, group C (250 mg/kgBW), group D (500 mg/kgBW), and group E (1000 mg/kgBW). On the 15th day after giving the extract, group B, C, D, E were dissected and made AKI. Then the extract was continue gived until 17th day. SOD levels were analyze using Ransod Spectrophotometry method. Results: The mean result of SOD concentration in group A was 74,27±7,27 U/ml, group B 47,44±5,18 U/ml, group C 66,71±3,73 U/ml, group D 73,79±2,86 U/ml, group E 81,97±2,79 U/ml. One Way ANOVA test shows a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The post hoc LSD test showed significant mean differences between group A with B, C and E, and between group B and all data groups (p <0.05). Conclusion: Administration of ethanol extract of celery (Apium graveolens L.) can prevent the decrease of rat SOD levels in AKI rats model.
