Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Limbah cair domestik ini sering kali dibuang ke perairan umum sehingga menimbulkan pencemaran perairan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu metode pengolahan limbah yang relatif murah dan cukup efisien. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan sistem Biosand Filter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah filtrasi yang efektif terhadap penurunan kandungan bahan organik pada limbah cair domestik dalam sistem Biosand Filter, mengetahui efektivitas penurunan kandungan bahan organik dalam limbah cair domestik yang diolah dengan sistem Biosand Filter dan mengetahui kesesuaian hasil pengolahan limbah cair domestik dengan menggunakan sistem Biosand Filter dengan standar baku mutu limbah cair domestik menurut Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Republik Indonesia No. 5 Tahun 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Faktor perlakuan adalah jumlah filtrasi Biosand Filter (0, 2, 4, 6 dan 8 kali), setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah filtrasi pada Biosand Filter yang efektif dalam menurunkan kandungan bahan organik limbah cair domestik adalah 4 kali filtrasi. Biosand Filter mampu menurunkan kandungan bahan organik limbah cair domestik dengan efektivitas penurunan BOD dan COD yang optimal berturut-turut ialah 81,13% dan 78,34% pada 4 kali filtrasi. Hasil pengolahan limbah cair domestik berupa bahan organik dengan sistem Biosand Filter telah memenuhi standar baku mutu limbah cair domestik menurut Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Republik Indonesia No. 5 Tahun 2014.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Domestic liquid waste often dumped to the public water waste, which become the main cause of pollution. Therefore, waste treatment that relatively low cost and efficient is necessary. One of which is by using a system called the Biosand Filter. This research aims are to figure out the effective amount for the filtration towards the decreasing of organic concentration within the domestic liquid waste in the Biosand Filter, to figure out the effective percentage of the decreasing concentration within the organic materials processed through Biosand Filter as well as to figure out the fitness result of waste treatment which refer to the standard of the Ministry of Environment Indonesian Republic Number 5 Year 2014. This research used experimental methods with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Factor of treatment is the amount of Biosand Filter’s filtration (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 times), each treatment was repeated four times. The results showed that the amount of filtration on Biosand Filter which was effective in decreasing the content of domestic liquid waste organic material was with 4 times treatment. Biosand Filter is able to degrade the organic material content of domestic liquid waste with the percentage decline of BOD and COD which optimal in a row are 81,13% and 78,34% respectively at 4 times filtration. Domestic liquid waste processing results in the form of organic matter used within the Biosand Filter systems have met the quality standards of raw domestic liquid waste according to standard quality raw domestic liquid waste of the Minister of environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 Year 2014.
