| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian yang berjudul “Representasi Pengalaman Melalui Transitivitas and Pemilihan Tensis pada Lirik Lagu Album Blurryface oleh Twenty One Pilots” ini bertujuan untuk (1) menggambarkan tipe proses transitivitas dan tensis kata kerja yang diterapkan dalam lirik lagu dari album Blurryface oleh Twenty One Pilots. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis data berupa lirik lagu dari album Blurryface oleh Twenty One Pilots. Data di peroleh dari mendengarkan lirik dan memastikannya melalui pangkalan data lirik online. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori transitivitas Halliday (1985) dan tensis kata kerja Frank (1972) untuk menjawab rumusan masalah. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan Systemic Functional Grammar untuk menganalisa representasi pengalaman melalui proses transitivitas yang diterapkan pada data. Transitivitas dapat menunjukkan perwujudan pengalaman pada suatu klausa seperti pengalaman bertindak, berpikir, berwujud, bertutur kata, berperilaku, berada, dan berkejadian. Hasil penelitian meliputi 7 dari total 7 proses ditemukan pada data yang diteliti yaitu material, mental, relational, verbal, behavioural, existential, dan meteorological. Proses material, yang menunjukan pengalaman bertindak, adalah proses yang mendominasi. Dapat disimpulkan lagu pada album berfokus pada tindakan konkrit. Kedua, tensis present adalah tensis yang paling dominan di terapkan pada data penelitian. Dapat disimpulkan konten lagu digambarkan tengah terjadi di masa kini, atau digambarkan sebagai kebenaran umum oleh penulis lagu. |

Inggris) | This research entitled “Representation of Experiences Through Transitivity and Tense Selection in The Song Lyrics of Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface Album (A Stylistic Study)” aims to: (1) describe the type of transitivity process and tense selection applied in the song lyrics of in Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface album, (2) To define the most dominant transitivity processes and tense selection applied in the song lyrics of Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface album. I use descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the data of the research which are song lyrics from Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface album. The data are retrieved from listening to the lyrics and confirm them using the data in online lyric database. This research applies Halliday (1985) transitivity process and Frank (1972) verb tense to answer the research questions. This research uses Systemic Functional Grammar approach to analyze the representation of experience through transitivity process applied in the data. Transitivity can reveal the experience embodied in a clause such as experience of doing, thinking, being, saying, behaving, existing, and happening. The result of the research is there are 7 out of total 7 processes found in the data of the research which are material, mental, relational, verbal, behavioural, existential, and meteorological. Material process, that is a process showing an experience of doing, is the most dominant process. It means the songs are focuses on concrete actions. Second, the most dominant verb tense applied in the data of the research is present tense. It means the experiences in the songs are conveyed to be or are happening in present time, or presented as general truth by the songwriter. |
