| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kenaikan jumlah penduduk akan meningkatkan permintaan terhadap kebutuhan pangan termasuk komoditi sayuran. Bayam (Amaranthus spp) merupakan sayuran yang biasa dikonsumsi daunnya. Permintaan bayam dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan, sedangkan produktivitas lahan terus mengalami penurunan. Maka sistem hidroponik dirasa menjadi salah satu jalan keluar untuk mengatasi kendala ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui lama aerasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil dua varietas bayam pada budidaya hidroponik sistem NFT, (2) mengetahui varietas yang sesuai untuk dibudidayakan secara hidroponik sistem NFT dan (3) mengetahui penggunaan taraf aerasi yang tepat pada budidaya bayam sistem hidroponik NFT. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL). Perlakuan terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu varietas bayam (V) yang terdiri dari: V1 = Maestro dan V2 = Mira. Faktor kedua yaitu variasi pemberian aerasi (A) yang terdiri dari: A1 = tanpa aerasi, A2 = aerasi 12 jam/hari dan A3 = aerasi 24 jam/hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian aerasi dengan aerator memperoleh hasil terbaik pada variabel luas daun total dan variabel volume akar. Varietas maestro memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil lebih baik dibandingkan dengan varietas mira. Perlakuan pemberian aerasi terbaik pada varietas maestro adalah pada taraf 24 jam/hari, sedangkan pada varietas mira pemberian aerasi tidak berpengaruh nyata pada budidaya hidroponik sistem NFT. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The increase in the population will increase the demand for food needs including vegetables commodity. Spinach (Amaranthus spp) is a plant commonly to be consumed the leaves. Spinach demand from year to year has increased, while land productivity decreased. So the hydroponic system is considered to be one way to overcome this detention. This experiment aims to: (1) Knowing the period of aeration on the growth and yield of two varieties of spinach on the hydroponic cultivation of the NFT system, (2) Knowing the suitable varieties for hydroponic cultivation of NFT systems and (3) Knowing the proper application of aeration level on spinach cultivation of hydroponic NFT system. This experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design. Treatment consisted of 2 factors. The first factor was spinach varieties (V) consisting of: V1 = Maestro dan V2 = Mira. The second factor was the variation of aeration (A) which consisted of: A1 = without aeration, A2 = aeration 12 hours / day and A3 = aeration 24 hours / day. The results of experiment showed that aeration with aerator have a the best result on variable total leaf area and root volume. Maestro variety gives better growth and yield compared to mira varieties. The best aeration treatment on maestro varieties was at 24 hours / day, while in aerasial mira varieties had no significant effected on hydroponic cultivation of NFT system. |
