| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Periodontitis merupakan inflamasi kronis pada jaringan pendukung gigi yang ditandai dengan adanya kehilangan perlekatan (attachment loss) dan resorpsi tulang alveolar (bone loss). Salah satu biomarker resorpsi tulang pada keadaan periodontitis yaitu penurunan alkali fosfatase (ALP). Ekstrak kulit kentang diketahui memiliki senyawa aktif berupa polifenol yang dapat berperan dalam kesembuhan tulang dengan menghambat reaksi stress oksidatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang secara per oral terhadap penurunan kadar ALP pada tikus Sprague dawley periodontitis yang diinduksi LPS. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris dengan rancangan post-test only control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan 35 tikus Sprague dawley jantan yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu K1 (kelompok tikus kontrol sehat), K2 (kelompok tikus kontrol negatif), K3 (kelompok tikus periodontitis pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang konsentrasi 25%), K4 (kelompok tikus periodontitis pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang konsentrasi 50%), dan K5 (kelompok tikus periodontitis pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang konsentrasi 75%). Kadar ALP diperiksa setelah 14 hari perlakuan dengan menggunakan uji Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Rerata kadar ALP pada kelompok kontrol negatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol sehat (masing-masing 23,62 U/L dan 13,00 U/L). Selain itu, rerata kadar ALP pada kelompok perlakuan semakin menurun seiring dengan peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak kulit kentang. Hasil uji statistik One-way ANOVA menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pada masing-masing kelompok, kemudian dilakukan uji post hoc LSD yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna kadar ALP (p<0,05) antara seluruh kelompok. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak kulit kentang berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kadar ALP pada tikus Sprague dawley model periodontitis. Ekstrak kulit kentang konsentrasi 75% memiliki kadar ALP paling rendah dibandingkan ekstrak kulit kentang konsentrasi 25% dan 50%. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Periodontitis is a chronic inflammation of the dental supporting tissue characterized by attachment loss and alveolar bone resorption. One of the bone resorption biomarkers on the periodontitis is decrease of alkalin phosphatase (ALP) level. Potato peel extract has active compounds which is polyphenols that have important role in bone healing by inhibiting oxidative stress reactions. The objective of this study is to know the effect of potato peel extract oral consumption to decrease ALP level in LPS induced periodontitis in Sprague dawley. The type of this research is laboratory experimental by post-test only control group design. Thirty five male Sprague dawley rats were divided into 5 groups: K1 (healthy control rat group), K2 (negative control rat group), K3 (periodontitis group by giving potato peel concentration 25%), K4 (periodontitis group by giving potato peel concentrate 50%), and K5 (periodontitis group by giving potato peel concentration of 75%). ALP levels were examined after 14 days using Diasys reagents and Spectrofotometri UV-Vis test. The mean levels of ALP in the negative control group was higher than the healthy control group (23,62 U/L and 13,00 U/L respectively). In addition, in treated groups, the mean levels of ALP getting lower as the concentration of potato peel extracts increase. Analyzed of the results One-way ANOVA showed differences in ALP levels (p<0.05) in each groups, futhermore Post hoc LSD test results showed significant differentces in ALP levels (p<0.05) between all study groups. The conclusion of this research is potato peel extract influence to decrease level of ALP in Sprague dawley rats periodontitis. Potato peel concentrate 75% had the lowest level of ALP compared potato peel concentrate 25% and 50%. |
