Dry Matter Production and Ash Content of Sesbania grandiflora Leaf at Different Stem Diameter

Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Faktor umur tanaman dan intensitas matahari menentukan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jaringan batang, selanjutnya menimbulkan perbedaan diameter batang, kemampuan fotosintesisnya dan bahan kering yang dihasilkan oleh daun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi bahan kering dan kadar abu daun turi pada diameter batang yang berbeda serta mengetahui potensi hijauan tanaman turi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Klumprit, Kecamatan Nusawungu, Kabupaten Cilacap, Jawa tengah dan Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto, Mulai 3 September – 24 Februari 2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey, dilakukan dengan mengamati dan mengukur diameter dan mengambil sampel pohon turi yaitu diameter 3 cm, 6 dan 9 cm masing-masing sebanyak 6 batang, 1 tanaman turi sebagai satu experimental unit. Data produksi bahan kering dan kadar abu dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam, bila terdapat perbedaan nyata antar perlakuan, dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Rata-rata produksi BK pada masing-masing tanaman turi yang berdiameter 3, 6 dan 9 cm dari masing-masing sebesar 241,86 gram, 249,89 gram dan 200,39 gram tidak berbeda nyata antar diameter batang. Rata-rata kadar abu pada tanaman turi yang berdiameter 3, 6 dan 9 cm dari masing-masing sebesar 7.57%, 7.17% dan 8.49% hanya ada perbedaan yang nyata antara kadar abu dari tanaman turi berdiameter batang 6 cm dan berdiameter batang 9 cm.

Inggris)Plant age and sun intensity were factors that determine the growth and development of stem tissue, furthermore emerge the differences of stem diameter, photosynthesis ability and dry matter produced by leaves. This research aimed to know dry matter production and ash content of Sesbania grandiflora leaf at different stem diameter, and to know the forage potential of Sesbania grandiflora. The research was conducted in Klumprit Village, Sub district of Nusawungu of Cilacap District and feed science Laboratory Animal Husbandry, Jendral Soedirman University, Purwokerto from 3^rd Of September 2016 unti〖l 24〗^(th )of Februari 2017. The Method used in this research was survey method by observing and measuring plants diameter, then took Sesbania grandiflora samples, i.e. 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm stem diameters, 6 stems each which 1 plant counted as an experimental unit. Dry matter production and ash content data were analyzed by variant analysis and if there was a significant difference, continued with Honesty Significance Difference (HSD) test. The results showed that the average dry matter production of each Sesbania grandiflora with 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm stem diameters were 241,86 grams, 249,89 grams and 200,39 grams / tree / defolation respectively, and there were no significant differences. The average leaf ash content each Sesbania grandiflora with 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm stem diameters were 7.57%, 7.17% and 8.49% respectively, and there was a significant difference between 6 cm and 9 cm stem diameters.
