| Judul Artikel | PENGARUH SEDUHAN BIJI KURMA (Phoenix dactylifera l) TERHADAP KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL DARAH PADA LANSIA DI DESA GUNUNG LURAH, CILONGOK, BANYUMAS |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Latar Belakang: Perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada lansia seperti menurunnya aktivitas yang menyebabkan penimbunan lemak serta peningkatan kerja enzim HMG Ko-A reduktase dapat meningkatkan kadar kolesterol total darah yang akan menyebabkan hiperkolesterolemia. Pemanfaatan biji kurma yang mengandung flavonoid, pektin, mineral, dan protein dapat mencegah terjadinya oksidasi low density lipoproteins sehingga tidak terjadi aterosklerosis. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh pemberian seduhan biji kurma terhadap kadar kolesterol total darah pada lansia. Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan metode pre-post test with control group design pada lansia sebanyak 30 orang. Sampel dibagi menjadi kedalam kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan, masing-masing 15 orang per kelompok. Kelompok perlakuan diberikan seduhan biji kurma 1,4 mg selama 10 hari. Pengambilan darah untuk pengukuran kadar kolesterol total darah dilakukan pada hari ke-0 (pre test) dan hari ke-10 (post test). Hasil: Hasil pengukuran kadar kolesterol total darah sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post) kelompok perlakuan memiliki rerata masing-masing sebesar 208,4±67,266 dan 190,2±49,849, dengan selisih rerata 18,2±14,417. Berdasarkan selisih rerata antara kadar kolesterol total darah sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post) terbukti bahwa responden pada kelompok perlakuan mengalami penurunan kadar kolesterol total darah. Hasil uji T berpasangan pada kelompok perlakuan untuk variabel sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post) didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,384 (p>0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan antara rerata kadar kolesterol total darah pada saaat sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post) pemberian seduhan biji kurma. Hasil uji T berpasangan pada kelompok kontrol untuk variabel sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post) didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,04 (p>0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan antara rerata kadar kolesterol total darah pada saaat sebelum (pre) dan sesudah (post). Kesimpulan: Terdapat perbedaan penurunan rerata kadar kolsterol total darah antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan, namun secara statistik tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. |

Inggris) | Background: Changes that occur in the elderly such as decreased activity that causes fat accumulation and increased work enzyme HMG Ko-A reductase can increase the total blood cholesterol level that will cause hypercholesterolemia. The use of date palms containing flavonoid, pectin, mineral, and protein can prevent the occurrence of oxidation of low density lipoprotein so that atherosclerosis can not be occured. Aim: Determine the effect of date palm seeds extract on total blood cholesterol levels in the elderly. Methods: This study was an quasi experiment using pre-post test with control group design in elderly with 30 samples. Samples were divided into control and intervention groups, respectively 15 person. The intervention group was given a date palm extract 1,4 mg for 10 days. Blood sampling to measure of total blood cholesterol levels performed on day 0 (pre test) and days 10 (post test). Result: The result of the measurement of total blood cholesterol level before (pre) and after (post) treatment group had mean respectively equal to 208,4 ± 67,266 and 190,2 ± 49,849, with mean difference 18,2 ± 14,417. Based on the mean difference between total blood cholesterol before (pre) and after (post), it was found that the respondents in the treatment group had decreased total blood cholesterol level. The result of paired T test in treatment group for pre and post intervention was found significance value of 0.384 (p> 0,05). These results indicate that there is no difference between the mean total cholesterol levels of blood before (pre) and after (post) intervention. The result of paired T test in the control group for pre and post variables obtained a significance value of 0.04 (p> 0.05). These results indicate that there is a difference between the mean total cholesterol levels of blood before (pre) and after (post) intervention . Conclusion: There was a difference in the mean decrease in total blood cholesterol levels between the control and treatment groups, but statistically did not change significantly. |
