| Judul Artikel | POSDNYCHEFF’S INNER CONFLICT IN THE KREUTZER SONATA BY LEO TOLSTOY |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini berjudul “Konflik Diri pada Posdnicheff pada The Kreutzer Sonata karya Leo Tolstoy”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana konflik diri tergambarkan pada tokoh utama novelet The Kreutzer Sonata karya Leo Tolstoy. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan data tertulis pada novelet The Kreutzer Sonata karya Leo Tolstoy. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode membaca secara rinci dan tekhnik mencatat. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan teori konflik diri Karen Horney. Analisis dilakukan dengan membahas sepuluh kebutuhan neurosis yang merefleksikan konflik diri. Setelah dianalisis, kebutuhan tersebut berkembang dalam empat fase: fase kemunculan konflik diri, fase ekspektasi Posdnicheff yang terlampau tinggi, fase konflik diri Posdnicheff yang kompleks, dan fase perubahan karakter Posdnicheff. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik diri Posdnicheff terlihat sejak ia berusia enam belas tahun, ketika diajak kawan-kawannya untuk menodai seorang wanita. Posdnicheff kemudian menyesal telah melakukan itu. Namun, konflik diri yang ia miliki kemudian berkembang sampai pada akhirnya ia membunuh istrinya. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The title of this research is “Posdnicheff’s Inner Conflict in The Kreutzer Sonata by Leo Tolstoy”. The purpose of this research is to know how the inner conflict is reflected in the main character of Leo Tolstoy’s The Kreutzer Sonata. This is a descriptive qualitative research with written data in The Kreutzer Sonata by Leo Tolstoy. The data are collected by using close reading method and noting technique. Then the data are analyzed by using inner conflict theory by Karen Horney. The analysis are divided into ten based on the neurotic need categories that reflected the inner conflict. Based on the analysis, the appearing of those needs are divided into four phases: when the inner conflict appears, when Posdnicheff has high expectation about his future live, when Posdnicheff’s inner conflict become complex, and the change of Posdnicheff’s character. The result of the research showed that the inner conflict of Posdnicheff found when he was sixteen years old, when his friends invited to pollute a sister woman. After doing that, Posdnicheff regretted what he had done. Then his inner conflict became bigger and bigger until he killed his wife. |
