| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan dekok daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.) sebagai teat dipping sapi perah terhadap total mikroba dan sel somatik susu.Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen. Materi yang digunakan adalah24 ekor sapi perah, iodin, dekok daun mengkudu, seperangkat alat untuk perhitungan total mikroba dan sel somatik susu. Rancanganpercobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan AcakLengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan.Perlakuan terdiri P0 (teat dipping dengan iodin 10%), P1 (teat dipping dengan dekok daun mengkudu 10%), P2 (teat dipping dengan dekok daun mengkudu 20%) dan P3 (teat dipping dengan dekok daun mengkudu 30%). Peubah yang diamati adalah total mikroba susu dan total sel somatik susu. Data diuji dengan analisis variansi dan dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan teat dipping dengan dekok daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L)berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap total mikroba dan total sel somatik susu. Hasil pengamatan rataan total mikroba susu adalah P0= 1,4 x 106 cfu/ml± 0,188, P1= 7,9 x 105 cfu/ml± 0,21, P2= 5,2 x 105 cfu/ml ± 0,16, P3= 1,7 x 106 cfu/mla ± 0,18. Hasil rataan pengamatan sel somatik susu adalah P0= 1,9 x 105 sel/ml± 10,3, P1= 1,8 x 105 sel/ml ± 16,0, P2= 1,5 x 105 sel/ml ± 19,0, P3= 2,0 x 105 sel/ml ± 21,6. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah penggunaan dekok daun mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L) sebagai teat dipping sapi perah dapat menurunkan total mikroba susu sebesar 62,85% dan sel somatik susu sebesar 21,05%. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The aim of this research was to know theappropriate of mengkudu leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) extract for dairy cow teat dipping that effect the milk’s total microbes and somatic cell counts. The research method was experimental. The using 24 dairy cows, iodine, extract of mengkudu leaf and devices to measure the total microbes and somatic cell counts of the milk. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and six replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (teat dipping with 10% of iodine), P1 (teat dipping with 10% of mengkudu leaf extract), P2 (teat dipping with 20% of mengkudu leaf extract) and P3 (teat dipping with 30% of mengkudu leaf extract). The variables included total microbes and somatic cell counts of the milk. The data were tested by analysis of variance and continued by honestly significant difference test. The results showed that treatments of teat dippingwith mengkudu leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) had highly significant affects (P<0,01) on the milk’s total microbes and somatic cell counts. The results of the observation showed that the average of milk’s total microbes for P0= 14 x 105 cfu/ml± 0,188, P1= 7,9 x 105 cfu/ml± 0,21, P2= 5,2 x 105 cfu/ml ± 0,16, P3= 17 x 105 cfu/mla ± 0,18. The results of the observation showed that the average of somatic cell counts for P0= 1,9 x 105 sel/ml± 10,3, P1= 1,8 x 105 sel/ml ± 16,0, P2= 1,5 x 105 sel/ml ± 19,0, P3= 2,0 x 105 sel/ml ± 21,6. In conclusions the use of mengkudu leaf extract as teat dipping can decrease the amount of total microbes and somatic cell counts in milk by 62,85% and 21,05%, respectively. |
