Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui taraf suplementasi urea lepas lambat (tepung gaplek-urea) yang optimal pada pakan basal jerami padi berdasarkanproduk volatyle fatty acid (VFA) totaldan nitrogen amonia (N-NH3) secara in vitro. Materi yang digunakanadalah cairan rumen dari 3 ekor sapiberbeda, urea lepas lambat (tepung gaplek-urea), pakan basal jerami padi (IR 64 Super) 70% dan konsentrat 30%. Percobaan menggunakanrancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan: P0 = 100 % BK pakan basal + 0% BK urea lepas lambat, P1 = 100 % BK pakan basal + 6,25% BK urea lepas lambat, P2 = 100 % BK pakan basal + 12,50% BK urea lepas lambat, P3 = 100 % BK pakan basal + 18,75% BK urea lepas lambat danP4 = 100 % BK pakan basal + 25,00% BK urea lepas lambat. Variabel yang diukur terdiri dari volatyle fatty acid (VFA) total dan nitrogen amonia (N-NH¬3). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dilanjutkan dengan uji orthogonal polynomial.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi urea lepas lambat (tepung gaplek-urea) berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap VFA total dan N-NH3. Taraf suplementasi urea lepas lambat 18,75% BK merupakan yang terbaik, karena menghasilkan produk VFA total dan N-NH3 yang optimal.

Inggris)This study was conducted to determine the optimumlevel of slow-release urea supplementation (cassava meal-urea) in the basal feed rice straw by product total volatyle fatty acid (VFA total) and nitrogen ammonia (N-NH3) in vitro. The material used is the rumen fluid of three different cows, slow-release urea (cassava meal-urea), rice straw basal feed (IR 64 Super) 70% and 30% concentrate. The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were: P0 = 100% DM basal feed + 0% DM slow-release urea, P1 = 100% DM basal feed + 6.25% DM slow-release urea, P2 = 100% DM basal feed + 12.50% DMslow-release urea, P3 = 100% basal feedDM + 18.75% DM slow-release urea and P4 = 100% DM basal feed + 25.00% DM slow-release urea. The measured variables weretotal volatyle fatty acid (VFA total) and nitrogen ammonia (N-NH3). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by orthogonal polynomial test. The results showed that the effect of slow-release urea supplementation (cassava meal-urea) was significant (P<0.01) on the total VFA and N-NH3. The slow release urea supplementation level of 18.75% DM was the best, because it produced an optimum total VFA and N-NH3.
