| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bobot lahir dan ukuran linier tubuh pedet sapi Brahman dan mengetahui pengaruh paritas terhadap bobot lahir dan ukuran linier tubuh pedet sapi Brahman. Variabel yang diamati yaitu paritas (P) meliputi paritas 1 (P1), paritas 2 (P2), paritas 3 (P3), bobot lahir (BL) pedet, jenis kelamin (JK), dan ukuran linier tubuh pedet, panjang badan (PB), lingkar dada (LD), dan tinggi pundak (TP). Penelitian menggunakan metode survei. Lokasi penelitian di Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul – Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BPTU-HPT) sembawa, Sumatra Selatan. Data yang digunakan adalah catatan (recording) ternak induk dan pedet sapi brahman tahun 2012-2015 sebanyak 28 catatan. Rataan BL paritas 1, 2, dan 3 adalah 30,05 ± 4,397 , 36,09 ± 4,825, dan 36,46 ± 5,788 kg; LD adalah 68,62 ± 3,611, 71,93 ± 3,743, dan 72,28 ± 4,468 cm; TP adalah 70,71 ± 3,162 , 73,89 ± 3,550, dan 73,43 ± 3,601 cm; PB adalah 54,18 ± 3,915, 60,34 ± 4,396, dan 59,41 ± 4,404 cm. Secara keseluruhan rataan BL 34,20 ± 5,81 kg, PB 57,98 ± 5,02 cm; LD 71,28 ± 4,37 cm; dan TP 72,68 ± 3,70 cm. Hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh paritas terhadap bobot lahir (BL) pedet jantan persamaannya Y = 29,659 + 3,068 P dan pedet betina Y = 26,203 + 3,068 P. Pengaruh paritas terhadap lingkar dada (LD) pedet jantan Y = 68,48 + 1,766 P dan pedet betina Y = 66,884 + 1,766 P. Pengaruh paritas terhadap tinggi pundak (TP) pedet jantan Y = 70,953 + 1,289 P dan pedet betina Y = 69,106 + 1,289 P. Pengaruh paritas terhadap panjang badan (PB) pedet Y = 52,754 + 2,612 P. Dari penelitian ini kesimpulannya adalah BL meningkat dari P1 sampai P3 sedangkan ukuran linier tubuh meningkat pada P1 sampai P2 kemudian menurun. |

Inggris) | This study was aimed to determine the birth weight and linier body size of Brahman calves in Parity 1 to 3 and to determine the effect of parity on birth weight and linear body size of Brahman calves. The observed variables were parity (P1), parity 2 (P2), parity 3 (P3), birth weight (BW) calf, sex, and linear size of calf body, body length (BL ), Chest circumference (CC), and shoulder height (SH). A survey method was used in the current study in Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul – Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BPTU-HPT) sembawa, South Sumatra. The data used were 28 records of brahman cows and calves year 2012-2015. The average of birth weight (BW) in Parity 1, 2, and 3 were 30,05 ± 4,397, 36,09 ± 4,825, and 36,46 ± 5,788 kg, respsectively. Means of chest circumference (CC) in Parity 1, 2, and 3 were 68,62 ± 3,611, 71,93 ± 3,743, and 72,28 ± 4,468 cm; respectively. Means of height of shoulder (HS) in Parity 1,2 and 3 were 70,71 ± 3,162 , 73,89 ± 3,550, and 73,43 ± 3,601 cm, respectively. Means of body length (BL) in Parity 1, 2 and 3 were 54,18 ± 3,915 , 60,34 ± 4,396 and 59,41 ± 4,404 cm, respectively. Based on the results of the analysis showed that BW, BL, CC and HS across the parity ad sex were 34,20 ± 5,81 kg, 57,98 ± 5,02 cm, 71,28 ± 4,37 cm, and 72,68 ± 3,70 cm, respectively. Simple linear regression analysis showed that the regression of parity (P) on birth weight (BW) of male and female calves had equations as follows: Y = 29,659 + 3,068 P and Y = 26,203 + 3,068 P. The regression of parity (P) on the chest circumference (CC) of male and female calves had an equations as follows: Y = 68,48 + 1,766 P and = 66,884 + 1,766 P. The regression of parity on the shoulder height (HS) of male and female calves had equations as follows: Y = 70,953 + 1,289 P and Y = 69,106 + 1,289 P. The regression of parity on the length of the body (BL) had an equation as follows: Y = 52,754 + 2,612 P. It could be concluded that BW increases from P1 to P3, while the linear body size increases from P1 to P2, after that there is no further increase. |
