Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Field of "Mamuju-3" is an exploration of gas hydrate field which is administratively located in the offshore of Makassar Strait, Regency of Mamuju, West Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The occurrence of gas hydrate in the study area is located in the sub-oceanic basins Makassar Strait. Its presence in this research explored by seismic reflection method, because it has the lateral ability to describe layers of sediment. Bottom Simulating-Reflector (BSR) in seismic is to identify the early presence of gas hydrate and one indication of the presence of gas hydrates in ocean sediments. Makassar Strait basin is one of the regions in Indonesia that have the potential of gas hydrates. Seismic attribute analysis and data wireline logs from the Makassar Strait Basin, West Sulawesi have found their BSR identified in the basin, based on the pattern of seismic reflection and response records wells (well-log) such as on log of GR log, log of CALI, log of SP, log of Res, log of RHOB, log of NPHI, log of DT, P-Impedance, and synthetic seismogram. In this study, the target horizon searched on seismic focused on the top of gas hydrates, while in wireline logs there are two wells are MLS-1 well and MLS-2 well are based on the anomalies of gas hydrate according to the theory. Logs used in well MLS-1 those are log of GR, log of CALI, log of RHOB, log of NPHI, log of DT, log P-impedance, and synthetic seismogram, while well of MLS-2 logs that is used is to log of GR, log of CALI, log of SP, log of Res (SN, ASN, Lat, and LN), log of DT, P-impedance, and synthetic seismogram. Based on analysis of these data, the characteristics of gas hydrates in the study area can be identified by either using seismic data and wireline logs. The results of the seismic data, the potential areas of gas hydrate research has a thickness of approximately 100 meters. Distribution models and gas hydrate resources in the study area based on the thickness of the gas hydrate zone (GHZ), approximately 100 meters. Calculations are based on the anomalous areas that have been seen on the map attributes. Then the six anomalies obtained in the study area that contains gas hydrates. Result of volumetric calculation is 10.38 km3, ranging from the potential area-1 up to potential area-6 each is 0.85; 4.34; 1.98; 1.7; 0.94; and 0.57 Km3. Then based wireline well logs, the MLS-1 well has a thickness of approximately 45 meters of gas hydrate, while the MLS-2 well has a thickness of about 360 meters.
