Penelitian berjudul “Silase Jerami Jagung Manis Dengan Penambahan Bekatul Pada Level yang Berbeda terhadap Tekstur dan Warna”. Penelitian dilakukan tanggal 22 November sampai 13 Desember 2016 di Experimental Farm dan Laboratorium Riset Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui dan mengevaluasi pembuatan silase jerami jagung manis dengan penambahan bekatul dengan persentase level yang berbeda terhadap tekstur dan warna. Materi penelitian menggunakan jerami jagung manis (70 HST) sebanyak 80 kg dan bekatul 16 kg. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu R0: 4 kg jerami jagung manis + 0% bekatul, R1: 4 kg jerami jagung manis + 10% bekatul, R2: 4 kg jerami jagung manis + 20% bekatul, R3: 4 kg jerami jagung manis + 30% bekatul. Perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali, selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap tekstur dan warna silase jerami jagung manis. Hasil uji orthogonal polinomial menunjukkan perbedaan (P<0,05) antara perlakuan R0 dengan R1, R2 dan R3. Hasil uji orthogonal polinomial memberikan respon linier (P<0,05) terhadap tekstur dan warna silase. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah silase jerami jagung manis dengan level penambahan bekatul yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap tekstur dan warna silase jerami jagung manis. Semakin tinggi level penambahan bekatul pada silase jerami jagung manis, yaitu sampai level 30% (as fed) akan menghasilkan tekstur dan warna silase yang semakin baik.

The title of the research was “Sweet Corn Straw Silage with the Additions of Bran on Different Levels on Texture and Colour ”. The Research was conducted from November 22nd until December 13th, 2016 at the Experimental Farm and the Laboratory of Reaserch, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The purpose of this research was to examine and evaluate the making of sweet corn straw silage with different levels of bran additions on texture and colour. The materials of the research were 80 kg of sweet corn straw (70 day post harvest, DPH) and 16 kg of rice bran. The study was done experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design. The treatments tested were R0 : 4 kg of sweet corn straw + 0% of bran, R1 : 4 kg of sweet corn straw + 10% of bran, R2 : 4 kg of sweet corn straw + 20% of bran, R3 : 4 kg of sweet corn straw + 30% of bran. The treatments were four doses of rice bran, the analysis of data were variance analysis. The results of the research showed, there was a significant effect of treatment (P<0.05) on the texture and colour of sweet corn straw silage. The results of orthogonal polynomial test showed differences (P<0.05) between R0, R1,R2, and R3 treatments. The higher the treatment of bran level, the higher the score of texture and colour of silage, therefore the better the quality of silage. The results of orthogonal polynomial test showed a linear response (P<0.05) of texture and colour of silage. The conclusion of this research is, sweet corn straw silage with the additions of bran of different levels improve the texture and colour of sweet corn straw silage. The higher the additions of bran until 30% (as fed), resulted in a better texture and colour of silage.
