| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Salah satu etnis yang memiliki identitas sering mendapat sorotan perbincangan adalah etnis Tionghoa, karena kompleksitas dan sejarah panjang yang tidak diketahui oleh banyak masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu komunitas etnis Tionghoa yang memiliki cerita menarik untuk dibahas adalah Komunitas Tionghoa yang berada di Banyumas, terutama komunitas Muslimnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memahami pemaknaan identitas keturunan Muslim Tionghoa di Banyumas sebagai etnis Tionghoa dan sebagai penganut Islam, serta bagaimana mereka menegosiasikan dua identitas tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dimana subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan teknik puropsive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum pemaknaan identitas keturunan Muslim Tionghoa terhadap nilai-nilai dan budaya Tionghoa sudah tidak terlalu kuat dikarenakan garis generasi yang semakin jauh, juga pertukaran informasi yang cepat dengan budaya-budaya lain, terutama di Banyumas yang memang memiliki budaya cablaka sehingga semua berbaur tanpa ada yang eksklusif. Untuk pemaknaan identitas terhadap nilai-nilai dan budaya Islam mereka lebih memegang erat, karena sebagai seorang mualaf, nilai-nilai Islam merupakan pegangannya hari ini, ditambah lingkungan sekitar yang mayoritas pemeluk Islam. Sedang untuk negosiasi kedua identitas ini, mereka banyak yang bermoderasi terhadap nilai-nilai dan budaya Tionghoa, selama tidak menegasikan nilai-nilai dan budaya Islam.Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemaknaan komunitas Muslim Tionghoa di Banyumas terhadap identitasnya bersifat fleksibel dalam hal-hal yang profan, namun tegas dalam hal-hal sakral. Sehingga dalam berbagai kegiatan budaya Tionghoa yang dalam hal esensi tidak bersebrangan dengan nilai-nilai Islam mereka akan bernegosiasi dan melakukan sedikit perubahan pada hal-hal yang sifatnya tidak sakral. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Today, problem about identity become one of the hot issue for world community. The problems is getting warmer identity discussed in Indonesia because Indonesia have many etnics, from Sabang until Merauke. One ethnic identity often gets the spotlight conversation is ethnic Chinese, because of the ethnic complexity and long history that is not known by many people of Indonesia. Chinese community have an interestig story to be discusse in Banyumas, especially the Chinese Muslim community. The purpose of this research is to know and understand the meaning of identity of the Chinese Muslim in Banyumas, as ethnic Chinese and as a Muslim, and to know how they negotiate the two identiteies. The method of research is desriptive qualitative, in which subject were selected based on the purposive technique. Result of the research showed that the overall meaning of the descedant Chinese Muslim againts the value and culture of Chinese is not too strong cause the line generation is farther away, nd exchange information with other cultures, especially in Banyumas who have a cablaka culture, so Chinese commuity not being exclusive. For the meaning of the values and Islamic culture, they holds them more closely, because as a Mualaf, Islamic values is a handle today, plus the environment around the majority is Muslims. While to negotiation between the two identities, they are much moderate to the values and culture of Chinese, while not negating the values and culture os Islam. From these results, it can be concluded that the meaning of Chinese Muslim community in Banyumas about their identity have flexible charactheristic in the prorane things, but firm in sacred things, partivularly with respect to Islamic values. Firmness in Islamic values concerning these because islamic values is that they find after undergoing various long process. Thus, in the various activities of Chinese culture in terms of the essence not opposite each other with Islamic values they will negotiate and make a few changes on things that are not sacred. Because of that, for Chinese Muslim in Banyumas keep hold their flexibility on meaning of identity, because that thing will make values and culture Indonesia abudence. |
