| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kritik terhadap manipulasi informasi dapat ditelusuri lewat film, seperti yang terdapat dalam film “The Fifth Estate” karya Bill Condon. Selain itu juga membuktikan bahwa kritik terhadap manipulasi informasi dalam film “The Fifth Estate” karya Bill Condon merepresentasikan perjuangan transparansi media oleh Julian Assange melalui situs WikiLeaks pada tahun 2006-2010. Melalui adegan pilihan yang menjadi sasaran dalam penelitian tersebut, kritik-kritik terhadap manipulasi informasi mengarah pada hak-hak kebebasan berekspresi, hak-hak sipil untuk pemerintah yang transparan di setiap negara, dan kewajiban pers yang merujuk pada kode etik jurnalisme untuk mempublikasikan suatu kebenaran, apa adanya tanpa manipulasi. Kritik-kritik tersebut merepresentasikan perjuangan politik berupa transparansi media oleh Julian Assange demi menolak manipulasi informasi melalui situs WikiLeaks. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The criticism of information manipulation can be searched through a film, as contained in the film "The Fifth Estate" by Bill Condon. In addition, the study results also prove that the criticism information manipulation in the film "The Fifth Estate" by Bill Condon represents the struggle of media transparency by Julian Assange through the WikiLeaks website in 2006-2010. Through the scene selection that were targeted in the research, the criticism against the manipulation of information led to the rights of freedom of expression, civil rights for a transparent government in every country, and the duty of the press that refers to the code of ethics of journalism to publish the truth without any manipulation. These criticisms represent a political struggle in the form of media transparency by Julian Assange for the sake of resisting the manipulation of information through the WikiLeaks website. |
