Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui bangsa-bangsa dan lama penggemukkan serta umur penjualan sapi potong pada target pasar yang berbeda yang dilakukan petani peternak Lembusari Kabupaten Cilacap. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey. Penentuan lokasi ditentukan berdasarkan purposive sampling. Sasaran penelitian yaitu anggota kelompok ternak Lembusari di Desa Gandrungmangu, Kecamatan Gandrungmangu, Kabupaten Cilacap. Variabel yang diukur yaitu bangsa sapi potong yang dipelihara, lama pemeliharaan (penggemukan) sapi potong dan umur sapi potong (bulan) yang dijual. Data yang didapatkan diolah dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis uji T dan analisis uji Chi Square. Bangsa sapi potong yang digemukkan oleh peternak pada periode Idul Adha adalah bangsa sapi Bali sebanyak 53,33%, sapi PO 17,04%, sapi Simental 14,07%, sapi Madura 7,41%, sapi Limousin 6,67%, dan sapi Brahman 1,48%. Sedangkan pada periode non Idul Adha adalah bangsa sapi Limousin sebanyak 29,46%, sapi Simental 26,36%, sapi PO 12,40%, sapi Brahman 12,40%, sapi Madura 10,08% dan sapi Bali 9,30%. Lama Pemeliharaan sapi potong pada periode idul adha yaitu 3,79 bulan dan periode non idul adha yaitu 4,08 bulan. Umur penjualan sapi potong pada periode Idul Adha (2,7-3,4 tahun) nyata lebih pendek dibanding non Idul Adha (2,8-3,4 tahun). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lama pemeliharaan sapi potong pada periode Idul Adha dan Non Idul Adha berbeda (P<0,05), karena permintaan pasar yang meningkat pada periode Idul Adha sehingga lama pemeliharaan sapi potong pada periode idul adha akan lebih singkat dibanding periode non Idul Adha. Umur penjualan pada periode Idul Adha dan non Idul Adha berbeda (P<0,05).

Inggris)The purposes of study were to investigate cattle breeds, the length of rearing and ages at which cattle were sold for different market targets, namely ied al-adha and non ied al-adha in the Lembusari farmer group of Cilacap. The study was conducted using a survey method by interviewing the beef cattle farmers, the locations were determined by purposive sampling. The respondent of the research were the members of Lembusari cattle farmer groups in Gandrungmangu Village, Gandrungmangu District, Cilacap regency. Variables observed were cattle breeds , the length of rearing and age at which cattle were sold (month). The descriptive analysis showed that the majority breeds of cattle being reared for Eid al-adha market were as follows: the Bali cattle (53.33%), the cattle PO (17.04%), the cattle Simental (14.07%), the cattle Madura (7.41%), the cattle Limousin (6.67%) and the cattle Brahman (1.48%). While cattle that were commonly kept for non Eid al-Adha market were as follows: the Limousin (29.46%), the Simental (26.36%), the PO (12.40%), the Brahman (12.40%), the Madura (10.08%) and the Bali (9.30%). The length of rearing of beef cattle for the market of Eid al-Adha was 3.79 month while for market of non Eid al-Adha was 4.08 month. The ages at which cattle were solds in the period Eid al-Adha (2.7-3.4 years) were younger than that in the period of non Eid al-Adha (2.8-3.4 years). The results showed that the length of rearing for the market of Eid al-Adha and period of non Eid al-Adha were siginificantly different (P<0.05). The ages at which cattle were sold in the period of Eid al-adha and period of non Eid al-adha were significantly different (P<0.05).
