Indonesia) | Aterosklerosis merupakan penyakit pada arteri yang ditandai dengan penebalan dinding arteri karena proliferasi sel otot polos tunika media yang dapat mengganggu aliran darah. Kondisi hiperkolesterolemia merupakan salah satu faktor terjadinya aterosklerosis akibat mengkonsumsi lemak jenuh dan kolesterol dari bahan makanan hewani. Daun kersen memiliki senyawa aktif berupa saponin, flavonoid, dan tanin pada daun yang bermanfaat sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol daun kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) terhadap ketebalan arteri koronaria tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) model hiperkolesterolemia. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan post test only with control group design dengan dua puluh enam ekor tikus dibagi dalam lima kelompok: K1 (kontrol sehat, n=5), K2 (kontrol negatif, n=5), dan K3 (42 mg/200grBB/hari, n=5), K4 (daun kersen 84 mg/200grBB/hari, n=5), dan K5 (daun kersen 168 mg/200grBB/hari, n=6). Induksi hiperkolesterolemia pada K2, K3, K4 dan K5 menggunakan minyak babi 2 gram/200grBB/hari dan kuning telur bebek 2 gram/200grBB/hari selama 14 hari, serta pakan buatan berbahan dasar otak sapi 10 gr/100grBB/tikus dilakukan selama 3 hari, kemudian dilanjutkan ekstrak etanol daun kersen pada K3, K4, dan K5 selama 14 hari. Rerata ketebalan arteri koronaria pada K1: 26,82 ± 2,91 μm, K2: 31,85 ± 5,61 μm, K3: 33,53 ± 7,57 μm, K4: 31,97 ± 3,15 μm, dan K5: 23,91 ± 2,43 μm. Uji Kruskal Wallis didapatkan hasil yang signifikan (p=0,01) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji post hoc Mann-Whitney, terdapat perbedaan signifikan kelompok K1 terhadap kelompok K4 dan kelompok K5 terhadap kelompok K2, K3, dan K4 (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa eksrak etanol daun kersen berpengaruh terhadap ketebalan dinding arteri koronaria tikus putih model hiperkolesterolemia. Ekstrak etanol daun kersen dosis 168 mg/200gBB/hari paling efektif dalam mempengaruhi ketebalan dinding arteri koronaria pada tikus model hiperkolesterolemia. |

Inggris) | Atherosclerosis is a disease of the artery which is marked by the thickening of the artery walls because of tunica media smooth muscle cells proliferation which can disturb the blood flow. Hypercholesterolemia is one out of many factors causing atherosclerosis due to comsumption of saturated fat and cholesterol from animal source foods. Kersen leaves have active compounds such as saponins, flavonoids, and tannins which act as antioxidant. This experiment was conducted to study the effect of ethanol extract of kersen leaves to the thickness artery coronaria wall of hypercholesterolemia rat models. Study design for this experiment was post test only with control group design with twenty six rats were divided into five groups: K1 (healthy control, n=5), K2 (negative control, n=5), and K3 (ethanol extract of kersen leaves 42 mg/200grBB/day, n=5), K4 (ethanol extract of kersen leaves 84 mg/200grBB/day, n=5), dan K5 (ethanol extract of kersen leaves 168 mg/200grBB/day, n=6). Hypercholesterolemia induction of K2, K3, K4 and K5 was done using pig oil 2 gram/200grBB/day and duck eggs’yolk 2 gram/200grBB/day for 14 days, and modified feed made from bovine brain 10 gr/100grBB/rat for 3 days, then followed by ethanol extract of kersen leaves was given to K3, K4, and K5 for 14 days. Mean thickness of artery coronaria wall in group K1: 26,82 ± 2,91 μm, K2: 31,85 ± 5,61 μm, K3: 33,53 ± 7,57 μm, K4: 31,97 ± 3,15 μm, and K5: 23,91 ± 2,43 μm. Kruskal Wallis test showed significant result (p=0,01) and continued with post hoc Mann-Whitney test, it result a difference between K1 to K4 and K5 to K2, K3, and K4 (p<0,05). This research concluded that ethanol extract of kersen leaves have effects to the thickness of coronary artery wall in hypercholesterolemia rats. Ethanol extract of kersen leaves of 168 mg/200grBB/day appeared to be the most effective dose that have effect on the thickness of coronary artery wall of hypercholesterolemia rats. |
